You also maybe able to use TES 389 rated fluids, and there are some much less costly options out there if you do. One that I've looked at is the Valvoline 773775, its readily available, and relatively inexpensive.

On mine I used Mobil Delvac 1, and only replaced the spin on. I did it one spring, and did it again the next spring. I'm relatively confident I've got it all now, or at least enough to matter. On the oil front I order the Delo 100 through O'Reilly's and it was relatively inexpensive.

My engine never gets that warm, hovers around 180F it appears all the time from what I can tell. That temp gauge isn't all that useful though in the range it runs. Transmission is about where it was mentioned above. Is this Hassan's truck?

Very nice, I do love my M977, I'm sure you will yours as well. As mentioned before change it to Delo 100 in the engine only, and get the 15-40 oil out of the transmission as replace it with some proper TES-295 or better rated ATF.

Wow, that is terrible. Four man configuration, a blow to the head during the rollover would disorient, and if you go into the water in the dark, good luck sorting out which way is up. I'm nearly convinced I'm going to require head protection for everyone in mine moving forward.

Going through the Form 1 process might be best. The breech ring is the controlled device, so if you decide to sell it later, and the new owner doesn't want the hassle, then the breech ring could be removed. If it were mine that would be the process I would take, and who knows, with some barrel...

Mine shifts like this some times. I have a spare transmission in a can just in case too! I've got another drain/fill cycle coming this fall as well. Maybe it will improve. It does act far better when it warms up.
