    Oil leak

Had the same issue with my deuce. Changed oil and filters, test ran, no leaks. When I started it a couple of weeks later (about 34 degrees F.) it dropped about a quart or two under the drivers side. Looks like it came out of the filters, but after it burped this oil, it quit leaking...

    Wreckerman's bob deuce pics

Good thread and good pictures. Seeing the pic with the tow bar set up and the safety chains, is this the recommended safety chain protocol? Is there a TM or reference for proper towbar use and towing?

    Wierd brake issue

Could also be a leaky master cylinder. Getting a higher pedal after a second or third pump often indicates this problem.

    Battery Tender Advice

I have three different brands of battery tenders which I use on different vehicles. I think that the original Deltran Battery Tender is the best (though I have not had any trouble with the other two knock-off brands). As far as I know, Deltran is the only one offering a 24V. version. I have a...

    BlizzardX23's Deuce STOLEN and RECOVERED

That Flaming River switch is similar in design to mine, but mine has a keyed lock cylinder in the center of the switch. As far as water-proof, I guess it is designed for open boats and can take a wave. I would not want to see it submerged! Keep it above fording depth.........

    BlizzardX23's Deuce STOLEN and RECOVERED

My M37 came with a locking, marine duty, battery cut-off switch under the seat. It is Heavy Duty and set up to use battery 1, battery 2, or both, or OFF and locks with a key. Great set-up

Finally putting the M37 back together

Thanks Zout. I manage the transportation of parts, pretty heavily. All small stuff goes USPS flat rate box, UPS and FedEx just don't compete up here. I have most of the big stuff shipped to or held at a friends in Seattle. Then I pick it up when I am going to be down there with the truck...

Finally putting the M37 back together

Rebuilding the front axles with new bushings and seals, new wheel bearings and seals, new lower steering knuckle bearing, new felts on the knuckles and all that other good stuff. Part of this evolution is replacing the front brake drums with front disc brake rotors and caliper brackets. This...

    First time out with WMO

For safety concerns, take a careful look at flashpoint, not just autoignition. Wiki defines.....The flash point of a volatile material is the lowest temperature at which it can vaporize to form an ignitable mixture in air. Measuring a flash point requires an ignition source. Below the flash...

Finally putting the M37 back together

I got the differentials back from Randy's Ring and Pinion in Everett, WA. They rebuilt them with 4:89 gears from Bob Stahl at Veteran Vehicles and some overhaul kits from Vintage Power Wagons. Take a look at the packaging, what a great job! I have to thank Randy's for their service...

P51 down at Reno air races

True, these planes are highly modified racing machines, but the general public sees them as military surplus equipment and thanks to this last accident many would like to legislate the use of them out of existance. USAFSS-Coldwarrior's point is still true. It is the public perception that...

    M101A2 Hitch question

pintle problems? I just recovered two M101A2's from Anchorage. Pulled them 750 miles over potholes and frost heaves, no problem! Check out my album for pictures. Go to member list, I found my info on page 46 of the D's. I had two trailers, I turned one over and stacked it on top of the other...

    Insurance??

I know some "Collector Car" Insurance companies, giving stated value insurance for historic or collector vehicles base their rates on insuring vehicles that are garaged. If you have a normal vehicle policy, they probably do not have this stipulation.

Finally putting the M37 back together

I am finally started putting the Moose back together. I got the rebuilt springs, the stripped and painted frame and the stripped and painted axles going back together. I should have my rebuilt 4.88 differentials next week. They have to come from Seattle, by barge. Then I can bolt the diffs...
