This is typical laminated windshield glass. Stock glass is definitely laminated. I'm not sure about the side windows though. Legally all windshields have to be laminated glass. On some of the older vehicles like my 1948 Ford ALL the glass is laminated.
Picked up the windshield from the glass place. It has modern style glued in glass. This truck is getting A/C so I don't need the flip out windows and this provides a good seal. Plus when I get the trim on the outside it will look stock. I guess I should start updating my build thread since I've...
Both of mine did this on the coolant hoses on top of the engine when it got very cold. I figured it was because the rubber had shrunk from temperature so I tightened them and the never leaked again.
Began painting the 109 with 24087 Gillespie paint. Got the top done. Next is underneath, painting the wheels black and painting the decals on the doors and hood. It will be a mix of old and new. This is actually the first vehicle I've ever painted so it was a valuable learning experience.
I am working on sound deadening too. This dynamat equivalent material first followed by closed cell foam and mass loaded vinyl. I will also work on the hood and side panels since they vibrate so much.
If it's an MG3 ring you mean they work great on a deuce. The smaller guns don't really need the big heavy M66 mount. I have one on my deuce on some legs I slapped together before a camping trip. Had the MG42 in all its glory up there the whole time in the Black Rock Desert :D
Good to see input from this as I'm planning to do the same to the 109. I have the whole cab pulled apart to repaint and dynamat it. Is it quiet enough now for normal conversation? My main reason is for noise because I take this on long trips and have passengers and radios to talk to the other...
I like this concept. I pull a hard top M105A2 with mine and that interferes with getting in and out of the box so I usually just unhook it which has been difficult since I don't usually camp in even terrain. I've seen decks built onto the trailer but this style the trailer could just be pulled...
I had a wheel cylinder fail in my M109A3. Luckily it was sitting in it's stable at home when I found the pedal go to the floor. The trip the week before involved coming back over the pass in the Sierra Nevada mountains! I had rebuilt them a few years prior. Don't know what went wrong. Installed...
I've had this brake problem on both of mine. One was the master cylinder had gotten some water in it which rusted the differential port not allowing the fluid to return properly. The other was the air pack. It will be fine after it sits and acts like normal. Get out driving and it will start...
It is definitely a good idea to plug the cap into a vent line. I just got done rebuilding my entire brake system because it got water in it and it probably came from that cap. Had problems with my brakes dragging. Well that's because the brand new master cylinder I put in a few years ago had...
That will look nice when installed! I think mine is in need of a gun ring too. It came with a cab reinforcement plate already installed and the front mount by the passenger door has marks from the leg being there so it definitely had one before. At the moment I will deviate from the M66 and put...
I had this happen to both my trucks. It would be fine sitting there, but driving and using the brakes they would slowly build up pressure and start dragging. On one it was the air pack and the other water got in the master cylinder somehow and gummed up the differential port.
I used a silicone grease on it and did replace that spring. The master cylinder was new a few years ago and I rebuilt it and checked the free play when I was diagnosing this problem 6 months ago. It's doing the same exact thing so I'm guessing it's the air pack. Last time it was full of brake...
