they aren't expensive... i would replace both if they are in question... however my bet is that the balancer is bad... or the belts aren't aligned. i had to shim my driver side alt pretty agressively to get everything lined up.
I dropped my t case a little. the shims are there waiting for you. Its the right course of action. if you go more than 4" new d shaft. If you're gonna do the shaft might as well do a d60 and 14bff... if your gonna do the axles you might as well do the crossover steer. if your gonna do all...
