OK... starter relay went. Got it. Fix is in process.
But, when I jumped the red wire and the purple wire to hopefully be able to start and drive the truck... the starter spun, but the gear did not pop out.
I have a starter on the way also.
Do I have another problem?
OK... power steering pump bracket broke. Got another bracket.
Got the old power steering pump out and got a new one ready to go in, with new pulley too as I could not get the old one off. Actually when I got the bracket I got a another pulley also tossed in. So, I gave up fighting to get the...
I see on Arvin Meritor's website that the RF-611 axle (which is what I am pretty sure is under the current FMTVs) has an option for disc brakes.
Has anyone actually seen one with disc brakes?
I dont have too much to go on yet, but I hope someone can help me out a little bit with some information and maybe a supplier of parts.
Model is RS15611NFSF
7.1:1 final ratio between the r&p and planataries
Both were manufactured in 1989 by Rockwell International.
Air brakes on both.
I was...
M1009. It runs good, starts very easy, etc.
But, at idle (even when warmed up)... there is a little roughness that comes and goes. Well, it always does it... but it is not constant.
Sitting at stop lights is when I notice it the most. Cant remember if I notice it when it is in park or not...
After reading up on the fuel filter change, I went under the hood to to see for myself just what I needed to do.
And what do I find!!! A 20 ouch pop bottle and two hoses all hooked up. Didnt need to prepare anything other than a new filter.
It was all there and ready to go.
And, somehow now...
Everything worked.... then a fuse went and took out all lights and the horn.
I just replaced all the fuses in the in fuse block, and the flasher relay because the one fuse that caused my problem melted. so, I changed them all to make sure all were in good working order.
Now... no blinkers or...
I need to jump the BO switch temporarily until I get a new switch. Which spades on the switch should I make a jumper and connect in order to get lights to come on?
Trying to find the schematic in the TM... but failing.
Well... driving the new to me M1009 about a week ago. Stopped to eat. Started back up and no lights. Hmmm... so I messed with the switch, up/down, etc. Nothing for a good 30 seconds, the bingo on they come. Cool.
Was fine until the other night. Waiting for someone with the truck running...
Spent my lunch hoping someone had done just this, but didn't find what I was looking for.
Half the bulbs in my M1009 that I just got are burnt out. So... I need to fix them. On my motorcycle, I replaced the gauge lights with LEDs and it turned out real nice. (cant find where I got them...
I have been reading for about 30 min now... and doesnt look too difficult to get a brake signal, running lights and turn signals.
But, I am surprised there isnt a powered brake signal for electric brakes already in the factory military trailer plug. Surprised and disappointed.
So, I flipped the black out switch for the first time... lights went as I expected.
Problem.... they will not come back on! Fuses are all good.
Gunna have to trace wires.... I hate diagnosing wiring problems.
Any suggestions?
How about a wiring diagram that shows how the black out...
Took out the M1008 last night to get something to eat. Got to the end of the street and the pedal went to the floor. Dummy brake light came on.
Truck is now a full double pump to stop. The brake light goes out after a second pump to build pressure.
Never had problems with brakes before...
