I had that brainstorm too, but the 16" rims I tried have about a 7" setback and the center is smaller like 3 1/8" and the 15" rim is around 4" setback and 3 3/8" centers.
I have a block heater on a M1009 and a '91 Chevy pickup and a circulation heater on a M37. Frankly, I have never used them. This is a coolant filter system from WIX, yet to be installed on something, but certainly be adaptable to the heater hoses on a CUCV series.
Rustolium makes a color called PUTTY 7772. It is a bit glossy and a tad darker. Could be that. When the paint chips off mine I use it to touch up.

My seat is not too bad. However I had a thought after restoring M37 seats to just make a cover out of some of the left over canvas. So some measurments and time got this bottom cover made up to replicate to seat. Double stitched the edges and will grommet the edges and use rope to secure it just...
If you are around any farm equipment junk yards they used 251's in some Massey combines and on pumps. If you are lucky the combine still has the hood over the engine as they exhausted out of the top. If nothing else the manifolds are busted. Down facing exhuast are tough to find.
I went to Duluth Minn and back, 1380 miles ,11mpg , in November through the UP of Michigan with portions in the snow. Very detailed maint. before leaving. A neat experiance but I would not do it again . When it is snowing like mad outside Ironwood Mi. you feel very much alone....

I did not see it happen , but saw the after effects of a run away on a museum quality, Deuce tractor. Rod right out the block. He said he fired it up an the rpm's went right through the roof. The stop cable did nothing until it destroyed itself, which only took moments. This instance must...
The fuel pump is not too intmidating to rebuild. I had one I ran a while then it started to pump fuel into the crankcase because of a leak in the diaphram. Try to get fresh rebuild parts. Check for leaks along the line to the tank. Maybe put a small spurt of air backwards to the tank to see...
