I don't know. I intend to put manual locking hubs on the front. If there's anyone who has put the Ouverson gearset in the A3 and can say it still moves, it would be good to know....especially if they've done bigger tires. I'm just wondering if the small percentage of time the truck would be...

This might be off topic, and it is almost certainly a stupid question but what would happen to the truck if you changed the gearsets on the back 2 axles, and left the front one alone? At least with my truck, 95% of the time I do not have the front axle engaged. The times I would have it...

I've gotta go there next year....but the hour in traffic in an MV sounds less than fun. I sat in over an hour of traffic near giants stadium when I was driving mine home from MD. The truck didn't like it; neither did I.

actually, Explicit1 asked about the viability of using an M35a3 to pull a toy hauler. On modern roads, a 50MPH top speed is a concern. The point I was making is that even if the CAT3116 was turned up to 350HP, without gearing changes, it is STILL not going to be a viable platform with a toy...

all the HP in the world isn't going to get you out of the 48-50MPH top speed when your tach sits against the 2700rpm redline in 4th gear. 395's exacerbate the power issue, but at least you get 54MPH against the redline then.

I'd settle for mine climbing the hill leading to my house without it shifting down into 1st gear! 60MPH would be nice too..
