I can't fathom why SEMA is supporting this. They are going to retroactively apply this to all FMV's titled in the state prior to 1/1/18. It makes it a class 4 misdemeanor to drive your HMMWV to work. They are WAY off on this one. This bill needs to be reworded or dropped.
If you're in VA - Bad legislation coming our way
There is a house bill that hits the senate for a vote next week that will effectively make it illegal to drive a HMMWV on road in VA unless in or to a parade, off road event, in transit for maintenance or sale, or "pleasure driving" within 250...
The front strikers are slotted, the rears aren't. I've heard of guys having to drill the body to move the striker down, and that was my plan, but the more I looked at it the more I was concerned that a) this would weaken the body, and that b) this was not really what was needed to get the doors...
My left rear x-door simply would not close. If I raised it up high enough to align with the striker, it hit the roof support at the top. So, today, in the snow, I detached the roof on that corner and installed some fender washers between it and the C-pillar and I raised the door frame/roof...
Does anyone have the correct size and material for the rivets that hold the window track to the x-doors? I have a couple of doors that need replacement rivets and I'm having a heck of a time identifying which ones to use. Lots of conflicting info out there. Some people say hollow pop rivets...
Ok, so I'm the proud owner of a beat-to-**** set of X doors. They need to be be refinished, bondo'd and and painted to match my truck. I'm trying to gather information about the refinishing process. Some areas are down to the gel-coat, but most surfaces are tan carc over green. Can anyone...
I'm really sorry I didn't make it down today. I made the mistake of trying to replace my aluminum Plan B doors with a set of X doors in half a day. Foolish! And it was just too **** cold for me to spend 2+ hours in the HMMWV with no doors on it.
I'll make the next one.
I replaced my glow plugs today. A 1/4" socket-wrench and a 10mm deep well socket was all I needed and I only had to do the passenger rear plug from inside the truck. The others were all easily reachable from the front. The whole job took about 30 minutes. The old plugs were actually in...
Boy the news outlet sure did their darndest to make it seem like this was Las Vegas all over again didn't they? Such drama. I'm sorry people were injured, but really...stuff happens.
SMARTY PANTS!!! LOL
It's 99.9% sure it's brake fluid. It's just a little on the brown side of clear. I'm just not familiar with the construction of the calipe with the ebrake integrated into it. Wondering if maybe the fluid is leaking out the back side of the caliper through the ebrake...
I noticed a small puddle under my left rear brake caliper. Upon closer inspection I see that the brake line into the caliper is dry, the bottom of the piston is dry and the drops are forming on the plate underneath the parking brake actuator. I can’t tell where the fluid is coming from though...
My right headlight burned out a couple of weeks ago. I got a couple of replacements from a buddy who upgraded to LEDs and had his old ones laying around (Thanks DU!). The new headlight looks good in low-beam mode, but in high beam mode it's very dim, and after replacing the bulb, my high beam...
