Military jeeps have the floating rear and a different axle ratio
If someone would come up with a rear bearing dust cap to make it looke like a floating rear I would be the first to order a set. It's the first thing I look at to see if the jeep is a real MB at GPW
I had a great day at the Lyons VA hospital today. It was the perfect place to say thank you to our veterans! I ate more hot dogs then I'd like to admit, met some interesting people and heard some great stories. Thanks Steve for starting this thread... Hope I'm invited again next year!
Anyone else coming..? Looks like 40 mile drive from Easton-Phillipsburg area. Would be nice to do a small convoy down rt 78 to the event.
Thanks,
Glenn
Congratulations on the truck. 6k is a great price I would of bought it for that and not have over a 4 hr drive home ,have fun with it. Can not help you with the insurance as every state is different . Good luck with it . It all starts with the first one.
Glenn
Welcom From central Jersey good luck with the truck,My first car was a 70 firebird that I had for 33 years. Sold it
to be able to get more military iron... Take your 5 ton to a custom car show a see what happens.
Thanks for the post. Going to pick one up on Tuesday only a 100 mile drive for me.
It's going for the ride home on my car trailer like you did,was thinking about using my m923 to pull it home.
Coming up for the day Saturday not sure if I will display or not, may only be a spectator.I do have a large shopping list.
Was all set to display and camp for the weekend untill I found out about the"no pet policy"
Not having my dogs with me would be like leaving my kids at home... My wife and I displayed one of our trucks for the weekend last year camping in the back of it along with our 2 dogs and had a great time.
I bet this may have something to do with the dog that was locked in a car in the parking...
Welcome to the madness, it all starts with the first one. You should take the drive up it Sussex this weekend . You can get some parts for your new toy and check out other trucks.
Welcome. Military trucks are like potato chips ... You can't have only one. 14 months ago I had no green iron. Now look at me. A great show is coming up in Sussex NJ. April 26,27. Not far from you at all . I will be at it with 1 or 2 of my trucks.
I think it will not take more then 30 minutes with practice that is with a soft top. You may not have to remove the soft top as I did . You may be able to keep it attached at the top of the windshield and fold it over on top of it. That way it's a one man job.
