The M35A3's (deuce and a half) also have many of the creature comforts that wreckerman listed above for the 900 series (5 ton). Since the A3's were are product of the 1990's they are also fairly reliable. They also have dual circuit brakes which would be good considering you plan on having...
That is essentially a "Gorilla Lift" which the OP suggested in post #17 (someone mentioned a similar concept in post #3). I think that with the moving parts involved it would be easier to just buy the "Gorilla Lift" than to try and make your own (less than $200). However, since those are...
The issue with a torsion spring is that the tailgate will never want to hang down properly. Since it will always be under torsion and since that force is increased the further it is rotated the greatest torsion will occur when it is in the full open position. Unfortunately, in that position...
Yeah I can't tell how thick it is there. If mounting behind passenger seat, the thickness will likely be the limiting factor. However, the lower you mount it on the seat back the more room you will have because the seat back is angled.
As far as the grill goes, I usually just put my Weber Q...
What are the dimensions of the equalizer? If it is fairly thin and shaped like an audio amplifier, I would suggest installing it on the back of the passenger seat. If it is thicker in shape I would consider mounting it so it hangs under the passenger seat.
Seams that the simplicity has been considered.
"Push up's" may not be a realistic solution for the elderly, disabled, amputees, or those with other physical impairments.
For those who are capable, so what? What is wrong with being inventive to make a task easier? That is how man has...
I didn't think of that since I usually think of "computerized" as being computer controlled. My CTIS is disabled so I didn't think about those components. Other than the CTIS what is "computerized" (not just electrical, but truly computerized)?
Regardless, the guy never claimed the weld was...
???
He didn't claim to use a computer to make the weld, did he?
He was stating that the same repair may not be possible on an A3 since they are computerized. I don't know if he was joking about that or not but either way it was funny.
I also like the way the rims look but may be inclined to paint them black if they were mine. I would leave them the way they are before I'd paint them green. IMHO
Nice explanation Pete. My mind was stuck to the illustration on the left and I abandoned that since you would be limited to only a 90 degree rotation. The idea on the right looks like a good design. Hard to beat that simplicity. The goal there would be to basically make the tailgate...
I thought about a counter weight also but thought the geometries were wrong for a "simple" (counter balanced our fixed) counter weight design. To maintain full functionality would the tailgate not have to be counter weighted through pulleys and cables? I might be missing something from how I...
Have you considered using a linear actuator? When I first pondered this my mind went to hydraulics but that would be way to involved for this application (unless you already have hydraulics on the truck that you could tap into (think M35A3 W/W)). A linear actuator would work roughly the same...
nmdata,
This is the THIRD thread today that I have seen you have post this exact same question. Another member already warned you that this was against site rules. Please refrain from this practice.
Yeah I thought those results seemed a little off. So what is the actual ROI, 19 years? If so, that seams more reasonable. Actually that still shorter ROI than solar usually is. Must be because of the Michigan incentives/regulations and buying the equipment in bulk.
