    ABN173's Little Project

Zout, It does look to be a new/recent paint job. Might let her ride like that for awhile, but most likely she will be a Desert Storm themed Deuce with 24th INF DIV (M) markings at some point in her future. That was my first unit that I deployed with in Desert Storm. -Dale

    ABN173's Little Project

While there is always stuff you can do to these trucks, and the thread title resembles "srodocker's little project" thread I started for Scott, sounds like I will not have to do much except optional improvments. Can't wait to get back stateside and check her out! -Dale

    ABN173's Little Project

Thanks Tony, I had hoped to spend less which is why I started bidding on her. I ended up spending $5 more than the truck you had offered me. Thank you for that by the way, I know you were not planning on selling one and just offered to do so in order to help me out! -Dale

    ABN173's Little Project

I'm curious, what did the fire house guys have to say? Did they know it was going to a soldier? Is that why they came up with the troop seats and headache rack? -Dale

    PNW Info Thread!

Very possible, I thought for a moment they had been given a canvas cargo cover, so I started thinking maybe olive drab. However Tan it will be, I may keep it red until the Summer at least seeing how it looks really good. I don't think I will keep it a fire deuce for to long though. -Dale

    ABN173's Little Project

Dan, Thanks so much dude! I could not have even bid on it without knowing I had a plan in place! Of course I have many questions, is this a whistler? Tell me more about this canvas top! I may have to go vietnam era instead of Desert Storm theme on this truck? -Dale

    Exterior Latex/Acrylic House Paints

Cool tip about using the trim! Depending on the condition I may wait to sand blast. I say this because in the Fall I am due to PCS to Texas, where I'm sure the weather is better for painting (when its not to windy of course) I'll only have about 5 months before the PCS move so I may just...

    Exterior Latex/Acrylic House Paints

    1. Get your self a 12 pack. lol I have been deployed for awhile now, pretty sure I'd be passed out under the truck with a 12 pack.......what the underside needs prep work too right? 2. Detergent wash truck with brush in all corners possible. 3. Go and chip, wire brush, flap disk sand rough...

    Exterior Latex/Acrylic House Paints

Ok fellas, I just won my first Deuce from GSA, I discussed this briefly with Mike (wsucougarx) but I plan on using the IMP code for desert sand. This truck was last used by the Snohomish County Fire Department so it's RED. My question is since this was most likely a civilian paint used what...

San Diego to Gainesville Fl June

Shannon, I'm sure you meant your MOS/field is obsolete, you're a marine and I'm sure there would be something related you can do until retirement. Should for some strange reason HQ does not approve your retirement with your aviation background you could look into the Unmanned side. I know...

Advantage of a CUCV over Civilian truck

Hi Rick, I'd say I am somewhere in between those definitions myself. It is not "my" definition just one found online. Sorry if it was implied anyone is apathetic, it was just added since when I discussed the matter with Matt it occurred to me he is a "type A" much like the many are in the...

Advantage of a CUCV over Civilian truck

You guys are all correct. Just saying he feels bad about it, and he has been banned. I just don't want to see the thread degrade further by bashing him for the rude comments is all. He has already been banned. Heck that is bad enough. -Dale

Advantage of a CUCV over Civilian truck

Guys I know Matt, yes he may rub people the wrong way as he is a typical "type A" personality. Type A The theory describes a Type A individual as ambitious, aggressive, business-like, controlling, highly competitive, preoccupied with his or her status, time-conscious, arrogant and...
