    Use an arc welder and Bubble gum weld a piece of 2" steel angle to cover that hole.. thats what the army did with mine... looks fabulous!

    Engine shut off/locked up. Will not crank.

    I would put a socket and breaker bar on the crankshaft pulley, see if the motor turns. If you can't get it to move by hand i'd say you crapped a bearing / locked it up / or something of the sort... If it does turn, it could possibly be in the tranny or transfer case.

    -Last time I checked, a random scrap of paper is not labeled, "Meritor Preventative Maintenance and Lubrication". A random scrap of paper is a crumpled up post it note in the trash... -None of the tranfer cases you listed about a temperature issue are in an M35A2 (Meritor MTC-4208, MTC-4209...
