The original pictures are much larger and well readable, but I see that the new image view function reduces them considerably. One also can't copy them per drag and drop anymore.
I generally like the look and feel of the new Steelsoldier layout, but the imagehandling could be improved...
Many months ago I stumbled upon some pictures of XM757 and Pershings during the cold war in Germany. After once again finding them I thought I'd share them here in the forum. Sorry, don't know the source anymore.
I also found very interesting original Martin and army documentation as scans...
The French are known for odd looking vehicles and all sorts of gadgets (mostly with very creative ideas behind them), but this is really noteworthy, I think.
A license built Vespa, to be dropped with paratroops, with a M20 75mm recoilles rifle mounted on it. See...
A little anecdote from another side:
I was an enlisted short wave radio operator with the Bundeswehr in the 80ies.
I served with the military intelligence and we exchanged informations with other NATO-contingents or headquarters via teletype.
When I was transferred to my unit I was startled...
*sigh*
I'd buy these parts in a hurry, but once again, I'm wrong side of the pond with my hobby.
Strangely enough, the mx6707 is quite cheap to obtain over here, but the bracket which is needed to fix it to the body is hardly to get. Same thing with the mt-1029 and the cables and...
I once found some pictures of left-behind 5-tons that are used as timber trucks in Vietnam. They were in a verry sorry state.

Would it be possible to find out something about the truck used by digging for the hood number 41087260 in some archive?
By the way, the original images are quite large (too large to post in a forum), to get them just do a google-image search with the expressions

On a research on the excellent contemporary photographer Peter Stackpole I stumbled upon a photographic documentary from him of an event we all know from various youtube flics - the underwater crossing of a lake or river by an early deuce, must have been in 1951.
Hi guys,
after a longer time off steelsoldiers and the M35 (our baby son Jaron was born 2 weeks ago) I started the old deuce last weekend again and drove a little, and noticed that the brake pedal was a little soft going. An after ride inspection showed that it blows out brake fluid through...
A friend of mine wants to paint the historically correct bumper codes on his deuce as for the last unit his vehicle served with.
The now inactive unit was stationed in Darmstadt - Babenhausen (Germany) and had the following hierarchical data:
V-Corps
3rd support command
16th support group...
I also heard that the door handles with the locks from the old Unimog fit perfectly, and look almost like the original deuce part (and are not chromed...).
Might be hard to come by without the mog hanging on them, though...
I have a big battery-cut out switch waiting to be installed, so right...
last time I readjusted the brakes I turned the cam adjustment until the drum started to drag, but I backed off again until there was positively no drag (unlike stated in the last step in Tommys instructions) on the drum. I thought it might be better because there will be no heat from friction...
