Iraq Looks Into Buying 36 Fighting Falcons

    > If they piss us off, we withhold the parts, and their planes don't fly. > Much like Iran's f-14s, of which very few fly now because they've > cannibalized so many of them after 30 or so years. That strategy doesn't work IMHO. Irans F14a (Doug, they bought 79 units!) flew nevertheless...

    Military Modified Suzuki DR-Z 125L

I didn't know that Suzuki cross bikes were ever in service! Interesting. Expecially with that small displacement, but big motors can make them too heavy for real cross conditions. I'm sure you enjoy it! I have the big brother of that bike, the DR-650. Ride it every day to work, round the...

How are you storing your Deuces? (Plural)

No way I could park my deuce in front of our house on the street. I'd also be afraid of people jumping around on it or hooligans spraying it or worse. Besides that it would stand in the weather. Fortunatly I have found a place to rent in an active military installation here. The deuce is in...

SO UGLY BUT I WANT IT!

Maybe the long nose and the small wheels were intentional and enabled the vehicle to cross trenches?

    Second Deuce makes it home

I agree, that could be an easy one. Also: if you see the drive shaft between the transmission and the transfercase rotating with engaged gear and released clutch, then its the transfercase.

    Tank salvage yard in Iraq.

Wow, that Praga looks interesting. I see a six-cylinder motor, is it aircooled through that cylindrical fan-shroud or is that thing a radiator?

Dead link to Deuce VIN decoding sticky

The last two posts in the sticky explain it. They took the back-issues from the net, put them on CD and sell it. Would be interested in the decoding data, too.

He caught the photographic sweet spot of the deuce on the first picture! Nice work, Stanlas. I wish I had a place where I could take the deuce apart and restore it from ground up, like you did. Congratulations! Mark

    Boiled Linseed oil in multifuel?

RE: Re: RE: Boiled Linseed oil in multifuel? I used a sort of linseed oil for rust protection/inhibitor with very good results. You even can mix it into normal single component paint. It is also very good for sealing wooden surfaces (boats, fences, barns...). I wouldn't give it away.

    Turbo question

RE: Re: RE: Turbo question has anybody here experienced this to happen to a deuce turbo (or other m-series vehicle turbo) ? I think before I would be able to pull myself together, remove the mushroom, plug the other little pipe on the aircleaner (all that next to the screaming motor!!), and...
