I usually never throw anything away.....just ask my girlfriend or anybody that knows me well. Anyway, a couple months ago I scraped a Mercedes engine that had overheated badly, probably got 20 or 30 bucks for it. Well yesterday a customer needed an oil pump from that same kind of engine. Darn...
An old timer glass guy told me a long time ago the trick to getting the glass to stay in the channel. He said to soak the rubber piece in motor oil then install it. I thought he was crazy but it worked. When the oil dried up the glass was impossible to move in the channel. This was on my...
Not much, but you could get "Agreed Value Collector Vehicle" insurance on it. I have an old Mercedes that is kinda rare. I told the insurance company it was worth 10 grand, they took a couple pictures, I gave them $162 per year and off we went. As long as I drive it less than 2500 miles per year...
I was at a buddy of mine's house last night helping him replace the oil sub pan on his Mercedes. He had just changed the oil 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately he bottomed out pulling into his local watering hole due to some ongoing construction. Anyway, he had over a gallon of fairly clean Waste Motor...
OMG. That is the just cool as (poop). I would LOVE to have one. How much and where do I sign up? I would guess that the tools in the picture are not included but that's OK, I have plenty.
I was working on my grandson's POS Chinese 4 wheeler on Sunday. Every time the grand kids come up, I work on the POS for 2 hours so they can ride it for 30 minutes and get bored with it, awesome. Anyway, I remembered that a while back I installed a "doghead style" starter relay "temporarily"...
I again say put them in. Recently I just happened to look at the classifieds to check out the new set up. I didn't want to buy anything, because I have no money, I was just looking. I did stumble across the coolest little heaters that a certain member makes out of ammo cans. I would never have...
OK, I am gonna chime in with my 2 cents. I mainly look at the CUCV forum because that's what I have. Recently I felt like I should at least check out some of the other categories to see what else the site has to offer. I have been using the New Post button and have found lots of interesting...
I found the link to the place that has the keyed alike door and ignition cylinders. The site says the set is only $29.00 and includes the ignition cylinder, 2 door cylinders with gaskets and retainers and 2 original matching keys to fit 79-87 year models. I am not sure if they are black or...
Here is a picture of mine. Got a little mud on the tires the other day while pulling parts out in the pasture. Actually got a lot of mud on the tires. Had all 4 spinning trying to drag a car up to the house after 3 days of rain.
I have a Snap On timing adapter for diesels. It has a wire with a little clamp thingy that goes around the #1 injector line. The wire goes to a box, not sure what's in the box. On the box is a wire loop coming out the other side. You connect a regular timing light lead around this loop just as...
I had a link to a place that sold keyed alike door and ignition cylinders but I can't find it. I really like the idea of having 1 key. The sets were very reasonable too if I remember correctly.
rockauto.com has everything you need in pre-bent exhaust pipes. Mine has the right front pipe from the manifold to muffler from them. Previous owner installed it. Fit nicely. I plan on getting the rest of the system one day.
Removing it will also prevent torn skin the next time you need to work on the parking brake. Since the parking brake is already fixed and the emergency room bill is already paid from the torn skin, please refer to the "How do I get the blood off the floor" thread.
