After looking at your photos, that steering column looks pretty rough. I would try to find one thats in better shape and not loose. --- Yea, I was thinking that too, but I am going to try to tighten it up, if that does not work I’ll use it for parts and as a working diagram on how they go back...
Like Mike said, lots of K5’s and burbans. They were picked apart but there was lots of good stuff left. Things that jumped out at me were:
· Tail gate parts, power and non power
· Bucket seats and rear seats with the armrests
· Center consoles
· Some good steel...
I found a tilt column in a bone yard yesterday, it is a GM and looks just like the one from my CUCV. It was in a pile of GM parts in an ’85 K5 Blazer and I snagged it for $50, mostly to use it as a learning tool on how they work. The tilt is kind of loose but it looks to be all in tact and the...
Thanks for the info. I just ordered the part from AA. However, the clerk said according to his computer, it is not for a 1984 K5 Blazer. The correct part # is S3477, however that is discontinued and has no replacement. WTF! I'll match it up with the one I just pulled out. What a PITA! I have the...
I have a broken wiper switch, are you sure this part will fit? I opened the link and it specifically states "will not work on your 1984 K5 Blazer"! In addition, how in the HECK does ity come out? I have been messing with it for two houes and can not figure it out!
Just spent the better part of the day R&Ring the rear breaks, to include replacing badly rusted wheel cylinders and fixing the parking break. The rocker panels and floor pans have been replaced and the last major thing to fix before getting her inspected is replacing the turn signal switch and...
That thing is bad ass! Check out all the fried non-skid under it. I was on an Aircraft Carrier, CV-60, that brought back a squadron on AV8B’s from the first Gulf War and when we got back stateside, they had to replace all the non-skid on the flight deck because the Harriers burnt it all off!
Toss it in the trash and forget about it. The only purpose it serves it to keep a private, or housewife, from dropping the tailgate with the window open. As long as you remember to roll the window all the way down before opening the tailgate you will be good. Save your money!
Okay, so after searching posts and after deciding on the BM RR paint, I am ready to paint. I have a tailgate that I have prepped and started to paint. The bed side I primed and brushed on bed liner. Then I brushed on a couple coats of the RR paint. It looks ok, but it has brush marks, no big...
I picked up one last month that was reworked in 06/2009. It looks brand new except for the dents from the GL fork lift. 2X4 and a hammer fixed most of the dents. I am very happy with it. Almost a shame to get it dirty!
