    CTIS - Tool Kit Question

Most impact sockets are 6 point and the air system should be around 125psi. Run the truck around 1200-1500rmp while using air tools. But most home compressors are regulated around 90psi. So all air tools will be usable just don't expect to ru. Full out for long since the tanks are small.

    CTIS - Tool Kit Question

Sorry and air for the tires too. Either a glad hand line or compressor plus some valve stems if it's leaking. Just put in a stem and with truck off unplug CTIS.

    CTIS - Tool Kit Question

Wrenches for the air connections, valve stem tool, and sockets were all I needed. If your into the wheel during recovery I pity you. Did that answer what you needed?

    M923A2 Muffler repair/replace?

So why not just go with a 4" muffler and rain cap? Summitracing has some decent ones in the $100-200 range. I was just looking since I want to quiet mine up while adding adding some more power. I'm partially deaf and dont wan to make it 100%.

Mntsnow's recovery and building of The Beast

How do you like the snorkel overall? Ever point it backwards? I'm in Wyoming so the same boat for weather, and drive mine about 1-2 times a week. The snorkel, air cleaner, and fuel pump mods are my next item to get more response and some more power on steep climbs. I want it ready for...

    M923A2 CTIS Problem

#1 thank you for joining and giving us an expert. Being new to CTIS its been hard filtering all the information over the internet. Question: Cold weather issues you say vent the cover screw, can you point that out? I live in Northern Wyoming at 6,200ft so 60% of the year its colder than...

    rifle racks

i searched and found some neat M35 rifle mounts but no 5 ton ones. I'm looking for a double rifle center mount, two low profile pistol mounts and an overhead. For the pistols I'm thinking some FOBUS ones hard mounted would be good. My S&W 19 likely will live in the M923A2. Locking door...

    M923A2 CTIS Problem

Thanks MtnSnow. Took me awhile to find that since most of the links in the other CTIS threads were bad.

    M923A2 CTIS Problem

Honestly if your system has 4 lights, full tire pressure, tries to work then errors out grab a 9/16" wrench and 3/4" socket, and valve core tool. Use the 3/4" socket to remove the CTIS wheel valve cover plate and the 9/16" to open the compression fitting from the wheel valve to the wheel...

    M923A2 CTIS Problem

Im in Cody WY, so NW part of the state. I was a 19K DAT before civilian life and when we first got the 5 Tons they were pre CTIS. Germany in the early 90s we still used 2.5T and the 5 Tons were the new rigs. So Im learning CTIS myself, but between the TMs, Dana manuals, and posts here it...

    M923A2 CTIS Problem

My CTIS issue was this: 5 flashing lights and wouldnt inflate front rear tire on passenger side at DRMO. Manually filled to 60psi at the base fuel station, took three complete cycles. Drove 230 miles home to Wyoming and everything held air but no working CTIS. While troubleshooting the system...

    M936A2 Transmission Fluid?

Thanks! Liking it it so far. Also got my CTIS figured out. It had extra valve cores in The T that comes from to the tire. So it could inflate but not blow down giving me 4 flashing lights. I read end in the TM that if a truck was going to be hauling heavy lifting loads it had to go to Maint...

    M936A2 Transmission Fluid?

Changed to hydraulic tractor oil that meets Alison spec. Shifts better on these -25 to 20F days. It's a cargo troop model and won't see much heavy duty work. Now to just get the CITS fixed.

    M936A2 Transmission Fluid?

So what would be the advantage of Tractor hydraulic oil over Dextron? Tractor supply has it for $28/5gal. I use it in my Fordson Major tractor and love it. My A2 has motor oil in it now and shifts "OK" but shifts better after 10-15 miles so here in Wyoming its warming up right before I hit...

Introduction and need a hand please!

So the new T-case should be here in about a week. I'm pulling the old one this weekend while putting a new fuel pump in the girl's suburban and running the swather. May sheer a couple sheep too....No rest for the wicked I suppose. Any hints while removing it? Also I'm going up for a load...
