EXCELLENT JOB MAN, I have been doing this exactly the same way but did it by trial and error using a multi-meter to figure it out about a year ago, wish I would have had this post then, would have saved me a few hours for sure..... GOOD JOB MAN!!!!!
That bed liner probably weighs 150lbs, I would say that data plate is right on.....
My M101A2 weighs 1120lbs, wonder why there is so much difference between an A2 and an A3 for weight ????
I use the harbor freight magnetic lights they fit perfectly under the lip of the trailer on either side right at the back. Get it home and I have the codes for the wires, I replace the top and big bulb in the light recepticals, and install a 5' 4 wire in place of the factory military harness...
I would just cut the shocks off of it, dont need em anyway, there is some place that advertises on ebay periodically that parts these out, you can get springs pretty **** cheep from them, I cant find their ad, but I have seen them before.. good luck
you got yourself an A2 if it has 8 lug wheels, the axle upgrade is the tell tell, the beds are the same size though there are 3 different beds I have seen on both the A1's and A2's interchangably....
Good luck with that, that will make a ****-of-a big tall tarped trailer cover, I dont know what material you plan to cover it with but it should have kevlar in it....:?:
Tractor Supply Pintles are CRAP, wondering if he has a substandard / chinese mfr'd pintle. Cheep crap will often fail on us even though it feels heavy and looks like a good piece of Amrerican Steel, if it isnt stamped "made in the USA" I wouldnt tow with it.:grd:
I have never had any issues towing with my cover on, I tow the Mountain Passes during hunting season with it on, 55-65mph 250-300 miles each way. They seem to look the same, just get a bit cold in the snow and freezing temps, and sometimes are a bit of a booger to get the knots out to open up...
Hwcurtice, I picked up a pintle in Olympia from Prestige truck accessories $125.00 for the 8" lift/drop hitch plate and the 2" ball/pintle, best prices I have been able to find....:grd:
great looking trailer, I was admiring your work, and went out to start working on mine. Realized I broke the handle on my parking brake. Do you know where there is a good place to get a parking brake at a reasonable price?
pulled her across the scale she weighs in at 1550lbs now. Those other wheels, tires, axle and springs are friggin' heavy.
I am going to take her to a certified scale later to verify. I used the local refuse (the dump) station for the weight.
I can tell you though that I can move her by...
I found the search challenging, I couldnt find anyone that discussed how to do a 4 pin or more specifically the 7 pin wiring. I found a chart that said what the military plug pins were but not what the individual wires were for if you cut the plug off. I posted my learning on here, hope it...
Ok, I have searched this forum through and through, and could not find clear guidance doing a search, so I am going to post what I ended up finding out.
I have an M105A2 Trailer that I purchased through gov liq. I wanted to drop the height to normal 3/4 ton truck height, and have electric...
