Fired up my deuce today. Had to charge up each battery for about an hour a piece. Not bad considering its 25 out and it's been sitting for 3 months. After 2 minutes of crank and wait it fired right up.
"Santa claus" present delivery to a local school tomorrow. Pics to follow in the uses for...
Mines got one of those. Works great. Not too worried about theft though. I've left her running in several parking lots for 20-45 min and no problems yet. Let alone someone trying to start her from scratch.
Took my deuce out to the department chilli supper on sunday. Hauled all the gear...
Yup. That's algae.
Just got back from fueling mine up for the winter. Had let it get down so low that I had to put 5 in it just to leave the house. Good to rotate that stuff out once and while.
Big chilli supper tomorrow and I'm hauling the bulk of equipment and gear from our squad building...
Hope this helps anyone with a starting problem similar to what I just experienced here.
PROBLEM AND DIAGNOSIS
Went out to start the '71 Kaiser. Flipped on the battery disconnect (its wired on ground side) and the dash master switch. Buzzer came on, gauges moved, fuel pump whirring. Hit the...
Another small update. I posted a poll in the body section about painting the safety stencils and the colors. For now I have painted up some sheet magnet in rattlecan green and dark brown.
Managed to get some shipping crate/toy boxes painted up and put in the truck this week. Also added in a different horn in place of the stock twin air horns. Sounds more like a "truck" now, ha ha.
Toy boxes
I've had a couple of medium sized shipping crates in the garage for a while. Just got around to staining/painting them up. Nothing fancy, just boxes holding extra parts, bungees, rope, tarps, chain, 2x4s, blankets, etc.
Getting around to the safety stencils on the deuce. Its traditional woodland camo grn, bro, blk. Should I do the stencils in flat dark earth, gray, or desert tan?
I got the bed lights from superbrightleds.com. They are 2025 lumen each and are capable of 12-24vdc. The sides are square 60degree and the tears are round 30degree. I originally bought these for a boat project but sold the boat. It's a bit overkill, but I paid under 100 for the 4 on sale.
Got exterior bed lights installed over last couple days. 27w LEDs, flood on each side and 2 spots facing rear. I can actually see backing up now, LOL. I also managed to get the LED healights aimed today as well.
Headlight upgrade
Last week it was the cargo bed lights. This week it was headlights. Had a car nut/Jeeper friend cleaning out his garage. He found these knock off JW speaker 8700 LED lights (multi-volt 12-28vdc) and handed them off to me. Haven't had a chance to see the beam pattern at...
Cargo Lights
So many projects, so little time....installed some removable cargo lights this weekend. My dad found a 6 pack of 12v compartment lights while cleaning out his garage a while back. In order to make 'em work for 24v I swapped out the 12v bulbs for omnivolt LEDs (3red, 3white), a...
User schwenk industries is who I got it from.
Looks like he last logged in June 2018.
My understanding is the truck came from WI. DRMOed there then to private owner (SS member), then to schwenk, then to me.
It has had a ripped top (tree branch from storm by 1st owner) but the repair job was...
