I'm running 34x10.50x16 with stock susp and haven't had any problems. The ORD shackle flip, and new frt springs are on the to-do list. Welcome to the club!
Beautiful truck! I'm on the , it's your truck do what you want with it, band waggon. I'm doing the same with my was 1031 now 1028 soon to be lifted and doubler t cases. YOUR truck, enjoy it, make it yours!
I have a clank/buzzing noise, and its my GP relay when cycling off for the final time... Not sure what it could be seeing as I have a new card, and relay, ground issue maybe? When it makes the noise, the water in fuel light flickers, but its a LED now...
All kidding aside, I have a friend that has a turbo SBC in his 84 impalla, he removed the heater box and ran his pipe out that way. One other thing to consider is where and what direction you mount the turbo. If mounted "backwards" of the norm, you could run the pipe down and forward and back...
I understand the "domino effect" but in reality what is the failure rate of the 60g's? I plan to replace them every 2 years, the truck doesnt get driven all that much either... Just wondering, I may switch it back to the 12v as its just one wire.
Perhaps I am missing something, but I also did all of the reliability mods for the glow plug system this weekend. All new 60g's new big shinny relay and new controller card from CUCV electrical. I DID NOT do the 12v conversion. I noticed that on the batt side of the relay with the key off (relay...
Thank you very much Warthog! I got everything tonight, and got it all done and the truck is charging at 28.94 volts! I am so happy I didnt screw anything else up, stupid mistake that I wont repeat ever! Im going to pull the nagative post when I change oil! I will post pics soon.
Alright, Thank you sir for the pointers. I was not able to change the title of the thread, but was able to change my first post. If you are, please be my guest. My initial post was made in frustration and not thinking clearly. I appologise for that. After further investigation, one of the blue...
Fuseable link smoke and sparks
I was installing new belts on my 1031, and pushed the pass side alt in as far as i could to try and get the new belt on. And heard a pop, and the wire going to the 12v distro block on the firewall started smoking, as well as the wire into the 2nd alt, that...
Looking at the pics, I believe my old intake tube from my 89 GMC 'burban may fit the factory air cleaner and go to the hole in the frt grill... I am parting the burb for scrap as it is returning to its base elements... but am going to have to see if that fits this weekend. Also going to try and...
I feel pretty lucky. When I rebuilt my front end on the 08 it took a little pry bar to get it out and was not a pain to get back in at all. As far as cleaning the inside, you can put the hubs back together, and shove some shop towels in the inner berring side of the wheel and put the brakes and...
Has anyone thought about his alternative fuel? Does that pose a special issue to glowplugs? As far as the MIA tip, my m1008 started a interesting knock when it ate a glowplug and mushroomed a piston. Nothing a red scubbie disk couldnt take care of:D but it let go when the engine was hot. Good...
I am working on moving/replacing the fuel tank with a suburban type unit, not only will it give you more range, but puts it up out of the way in case you get T-Boned. What did you do with the 31 bed? Trade it for the steel?
