I don't mind getting sideways the only thing is there are normally vehicles around so the chance of hitting someone isn't my idea of fun. Out in the middle of no where or in a place where there is no chance of damaging someone else's property heck yeah. Lol I've never used the durtracs but they...
Went on a rescue mission for a female friend needing to get away from an abusive bf I was on my way home from Austin Tx to OKC in a sloppy rain. I had borrowed my friends 01 Nissan P/u doing around 65mph. My mistake was not taking a good look at the tires before I made such a trip and I paid for...
The hard tops you are seeing are probably 99% aftermarket. Although there was an artic top made for the m715. The sloped ones like mine left the top bow posts in place and built around them. They also help with rain the flat top would hold water. Most of them are just sheet metal and home built...
Then your answer is yes they will fit under there as Mgil showed. There are some great info/build threads on the swaps your talking of doing be prepared to be reading a while lol. Keep us all posted on your progress and take lots of pictures.
The M715 has a 16 inch wheel hummer tires are 16.5 so they won't fit the rim. You can have the rims customized (cutting out the centers and welding them onto the hummer rims.) but they won't work otherwise. Our lug pattern and rim width is a draw back for these trucks if you can find them...
I guess I'm the short one around here @ 5'10" I fit fine although if I'm not paying attention I have hit my head on the top getting out I turn my body and get my feet out first. I've never hit my elbows turning at all but I haven't been wheeling or anything so I haven't tested that to much. I...
From what I've been able to find it not only came from Missouri but Gasconade County Mo. As I haven't heard back from them yet the only trucks using the numbers found on my truck (248 ) is the city of Bland Mo. I call dibs on water testing :)
I worked on tires when I was a teen and in the first shop I worked in there was a new patch in the roof where a split ring had went through the roof no one was hurt but the lesson was learned fast seeing the damage it caused. A few years later in a competitors tire shop the owner was working on...
Well if there is no way to get this thing up to speed without destroying it then I'll just have to leave it as it is I might want to add to the bed (ramp of some sort) so it will do what I want but I don't wanna go cut it up and I'd rather not just use the cab on a different chassis. Like I said...
Ok so what would be the hold back point of going highway speeds? Engine, trans transfer case or axles? or a combo? Or should I just find a frito lay truck and mount up the cab and destroy more of the MV in this truck? I know some GM rolling chassis will swap out without mods or much of it but...
