    Engine block heater

thanks for sharing. I put a block heater in my deuce, several years back. With the glow plugs I have never had a starting issue, but getting things warm on a cold day is never a bad idea. I may have to add this to my to-do list.

Shifter only moves from R to N to D

I would go under the vehicle and pull the 2 pins to the linkage. See if the shifter will move to all positions with the linkage disconnected. If it does not, go ahead and remove the 4 bolts holding the shifter assembly in and remove the shifter assembly and inspect. It is an easy removal...

Shifter only moves from R to N to D

I am with Action. The shifter mechanism is pretty simple. I am guessing something underneath blocking the movement.

New to Steelsoldiers and pending EUC a HMMWV owner

Welcome from IL. Nice looking MV. Definitely read the sticky notes at the top of the forum, and go through and do your maintenance first, before driving it around much. Get ready to open your wallet and let the money fly/drive away. With all the recent demand, parts and accessories have gone...

New wagon top xdoor 1 inch gap

X3, The door jam is missing the sealing surface at the top. Picture 4 tells the tale. As said, you can see the mounting hole for the rail. Normally it would be there, right about where the top our your doors would contact it. You will most likely need to fabricate a piece of flat to take up...

    Geared Hub Check Procedure

Other than checking for leaks and fluid level, that is pretty much it. There is a special socket that you use to tighten the nut on the spindle. It would be a good idea to get one of those so that you can torque the nut correctly. Once you get in there, it is not a bad idea to replace the...

    Confused... LED headlights...

Glad to hear it. The volt meter does not lie.

    Confused... LED headlights...

Just for verification, did you put a volt meter on both headlights wiring, to check voltage? You would be able to move the meter common lead around to different grounding points to see if that was the culprit.

Hmmwv led tail light replacement bulbs?

I really looked into using the LED bulbs. There are lots of web sights that you can take the standard bulb number and it will give you an LED equivalent. I was all set to order them up and then I thought, "why am I spending $5 - $10 a bulb and possibly opening myself up to flasher issues"...

    Airlift bumper bracket

There are essentially three different supports. Inner Brackets, Outer Brackets, and Outer Braces. A popular auction site has several listings for the inner brackets and outer braces. The outer brackets are a bit harder to come by, and they come as left & rights. You do need the Outer...

Best one stop shop for bolts/lockwashers/fittings?

I agree here. The box stores have a huge mark-up, and if you are buying a bunch, or if you are going with any stainless, you will want to shop around to some of the industrial suppliers.

    Rear seatbelt install problem

One thing I thought of is that is a pretty large bolt for a hand rivnut tool. Might find it difficult to find a tool that will go that large.
