I do not know here to begin with the defense of sniping on ebay. To me it smells like a twinge of conscience over following the philosophy of never giving a sucker an even break.
Before you run with the sucker comment, be advised, since I figured out the sniping tactic my win rate on...
That is a one sided view of the practice. From where I sit, someone honestly believes an item is worth $1.00 and bids that amount and then someone comes out of the weeds at T minus 10 seconds and buys it for $1.01.
On ebay I have bid $1,000 for an item I wanted bad but hoped would go for $300...
But it ticks off the buying customers.
What ticks me off about ebay is when some sniper beats me by $0.01 in the last 5 seconds.
The Gov Liq method prevents this, so it's fine with me.

The 9.00 tube is gonna be stretched thin to fill that tire. That plus all the friction between the tube and tire in the sidewall area will equal a short life expectancy for the tube.
If I was you I'd keep looking for some bigger tubes.

Tube type radials are perfectly fine.
The flat based with lock ring(s) tube type wheels encountered on the M-35 and semi trucks are called "multi-piece" wheels. "Split rims/wheels" are a different animal. If you call a tire shop and say you want a split rim serviced they will probably hang up...
What you say about the suspension is true but that did not render the vehicle unsafe when properly used.
Drivers using the vehicle like a motocross dirt bike, e.g. getting "air time" on bumps and high speed cornering resulted in rollovers.
I suspect that if we had access to the raw data on...
The FedGov decided the M151 posed a rollover hazard.
If the vehicle became airborne while traversing some whoop-de-dos the front wheels would rotate down and in. If the steering wheel was not pointing straight forward upon landing, the leading wheel tucked under and the vehicle rolled.
Thats...
Bent enough as in a guy could eyeball it, or bent a little so you'd need to check run-out with a dial indicator or some such?
According to the yard man they drove the truck in and parked it....no forklift involved.
Thanks

Got a chance to try the new M1009 in 4WD thanks to the ice and snow packed roads.
With the hubs locked and in 4-high there is a strong vibration thru the steering wheel and dashboard at 20 to 25 mph. Its shaking hard and I did not go any faster.
I left the hubs locked and put it in 2-high...

There are plenty of places to discuss topics other than military vehicles.

Today I installed a manual glow switch and new glow plugs in my M1009 due to 100% failure to start cold. With the manual switch I now hear the relay closing (did not with the auto system) but no fire even with the new plugs. I have more electrical troubleshooting to do but your comments about a...
