My #3 line looks to be leaking up the tube at the hydraulic head. The protective covers arent there and there is rust in all of the recesses. The #3 leaks right in the small recess.
I've had an issue getting the proper #3 fuel line. I attached some pictures of the latest fuel line I ordered. The bends are not in the correct places (at least compared to whats currently on the truck). Am I supposed to do some bending on these or should they be a direct fit?
the #3 hard fuel line appears to be leaking at the hydraulic head. I've reviewed some TMs and there doesn't appear to be any rubber seal for the hard line within the head that could be leaking. Is there a rubber seal I could install to try and stop the leak or should I replace the hard line...
I went to drain / fill my steering box with 80/90 gear oil and it appears to be full of a medium thickness gray grease. Should I leave the grease or flush it to add the proper gear oil or corn head grease? Anyway to determine what type of grease may have been used?
Thank you
I am looking to have some work done to my Deuce, are there any recommendations of shops that know military vehicles? Looking to have my rear suspension worked on, dogbones replaced, rear trunnions serviced, new U-Bolts... the current ubolts are crumbling with rust.
Thank you
Installed the new air governor... ended up using DOT nylon tubing from the firewall to the tee (that short foot long piece of copper was hard as a diamond as too hard to try to bend straight)
I think the guys at the parts store may have sold me the wrong connector because after a few turns of...
Thanks for all the info!
Can I slightly bend that old copper to reach where it should on the new governor? Or should I replace, I would like to keep the originality of the copper system.
Does anyone have a good resource for purchasing the brass fittings online? I stopped by 2 auto parts stores, Home Depot and Rural King today and none of them have the fittings in-stock.
I just checked behind the old governor, the original mounting holes are there. I also measured the lines and they seem to be original spec sizes. (ill still bring the old fittings to the hardware store...just in case)
Does anyone know the thread pitch for the 3/8 x 2 mounting bolts?
Thanks...
I would like to replace the adapters and will need the newer style longer bolts when installing the new governor; does anyone know what size part 3, 5, 7 and 9 are as noted from this TM excerpt?
