how's your metal fab / welding skills? can you pie cut?
sure you can get a junk yard turbo build. run a bunch of boost until the engine melts itself together.
with any forced induction. it's not as simple as just slapping on a turbo to your existing engine.
Oh some sort of pusher set up.
I thought you were going all electrical, and questioning why. Hah
I think the principal is some air flow is better then no air flow in the pusher set ups. They do work though. There's examples out there.... Not really reinventing the wheel sorta speak.
best to go off watt, or Kw for power needs. 24v at 60 amp is only 1440 watts. 24v at 200 amp is 4800 watt.
half tons usually have 160ish amps at 12v, and 3/4 ton is 185 amp @ 12 volt. my 18' ram has two of the 185 amp 12 volt alternators, which is less power then the 200 amp 24volt alternator in...
the problem you're going to run into is that it's way cheaper using a mechanical fan (belt driven) then electric. The price for the CFM on the electric units sky rocket just to get to the stock CFM a belt driven fan puts out.... I would use the the stock dirtymax fan that came with the engine...
Time for a 200 amp upgrade with those mods in the future... that and new eess, coolant sensor and gp's... expensive fail, but hey welcome to the hobby.
I have only needed to do a eess, coolant sensor, gp's, and fluids in the three years of ownership with my hmmwv... so they break and it's a...
This. A truck won't start if it doesn't have fuel in the first place. You should have heavy puffs of gray/white smoke while the engine cranks over. Might take the tail end of 30 seconds to be noticeable, but let the starter cool down then go back cranking it. You should see unburnt diesel smoke...
My hmmwv came from Irwin. It had the normal MT on one axle, and baja's on the other.
I guess that's all they could get?
Never seen that in big army, but then again I wasn't looking at the hmmwv tires much...
Yeah combat. Combating the Prius for a parking spot. Hah
Man this thread got out of hand.
A ford ecoboost? Really?
You guys are going to talk of doing a solid axle swap next... Or le gasp hemtt axles.
