I HATE the PS mag....it doesn't illustrate clearly, doesn't give step by step... Thank you very much for your useful post! This is an EXCELLENT "how-to"!! Thank you for the detailed pictures as well.
I just did this a few weeks ago...apparently whoever had the truck before me plugged the old...
UPDATE
My process worked, the bushing came out like butter! Step by step process will be posted with higher resolution pictures and a video...but for now, here are my cell phone pics (Posted to the Original Post). I will update this post (step by step) either this Thursday or Friday...probably...
I just picked up a "slug" from a place called S&K Steel
Its a round disc...about 1 inch thick...its been plasma cut from another project (its scrap) but it fits...well, it's tight....might be a little too big...by like 1-2mm so I will file it down a LITTLE...I'll take some pics after I get done...
Thanks everyone for the advice! Keep it coming!
Awesome!! Thank you! I was curious about this...I put the caliper to the eye and they pretty much measured the same. I haven't seen any threads with information on this when I was doing my search. It seems like most people just have a shop do...
I know a lot of people have gone to shops to have their bushings pressed...has anyone come up with a system to do it at home?
I just purchased a 20 Ton Shop Press and already assembled it in my garage...I wanna start pressing out the old bushings and ordering new ones to press in.
Thanks for...
I sprayed it straight with the Wagner. Went to Home Depot, told them the color I wanted...took it home, poured the paint into the Wagner jar, hooked the jar to the sprayer, and sprayed it directly...no thinning needed
(BE CAREFUL!!! When the Wagner starts getting LOW on paint, it will start...
Thanks every! I did the base green (which it's been green for months) with Home Depot exterior latex house paint...it's held up great! I even hit it with my Pressure Washer to see if I could strip the paint after I messed up on some Camo...couldn't take ANY of the paint off (which is why I just...
I just ordered this piece from Northern Tools...I'll hook it up to my pressure washer and strip my truck back down and start fresh...
Where do you guys spray your trucks? I live in a regular track home neighborhood...so I cant do it in the street...can I?
Just an update for whoever is following this...Finally got the other dogbone out...After spending last night swinging away at the torque rod end...trying to break it loose from the frame...Then using the torch and trying again, it finally just came out 10 minutes ago...This will make for a fast...
Thanks guys!
I sprayed the base coat (when I did it tan...and when I turned it green) with Latex paint from Home Depot, sprayed with the electric sprayer from Home Depot ($80 Wagner paint sprayer)
It's been green for a while..I wanted to paint it 3-color camo since the beginning...just not...
Well..I added the air switch, and new wires and I now have brake lights...looks as if this truck hasn't had brake lights in years...Also, I fixed my air horn by installing new plugs/wires also.
Whoever owned this truck before me really screwed it up...there are Napa/Auto zone wire connectors...
Interesting...it looks like they(whoever owned the truck before me) removed the old switch and capped it off...but never installed a new switch? just cut the wires and let them hang? What do you guys suggest...pull everything and start fresh?

Alright guys...been busy with school again. I'd like to order my parts this weekend. I've done plenty of searches (google and SS) and I've found Torque Rod Ends for $68 plus shipping...wondering if you guys have suggestions on cheaper parts? Lemme know...and I'll keep you guys posted on my...
