Since the site has been down, I got the remaining suspensions reassembled and onto the the hull. I also painted the rear idlers and exhaust tail pipes. Here are some pictures.
Thanks for the kind words from everyone following the post. I'm sure most understand that none of these parts are...
I'm currently working on the vertical volute suspensions. I have three of the six sandblasted, painted and reassembled. I included some photos. I have the other three sandblasted and hope to have them painted over the weekend. I will keep the posts coming, but it may get slow and boring for a...
Inspired by the photos posted by DoctorCheney223 of his Sherman I decided to post some pictures of the current restoration of my M4A3. With the help of friends we started to tear into it last year, but work was stopped up to a couple of months ago. I have 2 hard months of stripping, sandblasting...
Check out this site. I think you will find that this is the Andy you are looking for. Northeast Military Vehicle Services LLC
Also the guy in Fairborn that lives down a "long lane" used to have a museum, most of his pieces were on loan from the government and he has since given them back. I...
I have never had that problem. The only thing I could think of (that is if you have the right gasket around the oil canister) would be the oil pressure relief valve. It is on the same side of the engine as the oil filter and screws into the block next to the oil lines from the oil pump. Maybe it...
Glad you got it figured out. I have never had lifters stick in the bores, even on enigines that have been sitting for over 20 years. I would have thought that the valve springs would have pushed them in. I do not know if you did this or not but I always coat the lifters with assembly lube before...
Are you sure your fuel pump is good? The only reason I ask is based on what you wrote you said that it was not working as well. Which led me to believe that the cam was not turning. I would now check the lifters before you tear it completely apart. I was working on one last night that had a...
I would say that your cam is spinning in the cam gear or the cam shaft is broken, but I doubt that, or the lobes are worn on your cam shaft. The lifters are hydraulic, but they still would move even though they are not pumped up.
I would say more than likely your cam shaft is not turning...
A good time was had by all. Well at least I can speak for myself and I had a good time. This has the potential to be an excellent show. I hope that more vendors and vehicles attend next time.
I give my thanks to the Seaman family and the Ohio Motorpool for putting on a very good show.
You might want to look around the fitting that the oil return line attaches to. I have found that the head will crack here if the fitting is not screwed in properly. It will look like the oil is coming from the valve cover, but it really is running out of a crack in the head around the fitting.
Here is a picture of "Proud Mary" with me and my sister around 1980. My dad owned this V-100 then. It was demilled and re-welded. My dad sold it to someone in Oklahoma in the early 80's. I was wondering if any one knows of the where abouts of this one now. I always assumed since it was named...
A fee pictures of my toys past and present. A M114 that was sold in a weak moment and the M5A1 restoration project that was financed by the sale of a nice 70 Dodge RT SE Challenger.
Bill from Idaho have you ever thought about that people who own M114's or any other piece of armor might make sacrifices in order to be able to afford one? I do not have a copious amount of money and own two. Yes it takes money to own one but I have less money in mine than I would have in say a...
