depends on the load range of the tire. the newer 31-10.50 x 15 tires are load c, max pressure at 50 psi.

i had a 6.2 with 15k out of a 1009 that had a top end knock. i sold it for 300 to a friend and told him that i was sure there was a piece of a glow plug in the top of one piston. he yanked the head, and sure enough that's what he found. he's happy, driving the truck daily.

that vin is not correct, 3 rd character is wrong, but if the rest is right it should be an 82 4x2 6.2 diesel , regular cab. 1 ton single wheel. the 3rd character should be a c, b, or t. 5th charater should be a d if a military truck. if the plant code, -v- is correct might be a gmc originally

i have had this happen before. the main ground strap from the bus panel to the rear intake manifold is loose. it is mounted on a manifold bolt stud. you'll have to hold the bottom bolt with a wrench while you remove the top nut. the starter circuit is looking for a ground, not finding the main...

the tag on the dash should have a one as the first charactor, and should be 17 digits long, sometimes they are hard to read, clean it or remove the dash where you can get to it better. if its an 85 there will be two f's in a row(10th and 11th digit). , then 6 numbers thanks. mark

i dont have a clue what your talking abou:cookoo:t . the rpo code for gm's locking differential is G80. on 1028's the 4th charactor of the vin is an h instead of a g for the 1008, with the former having traclok in the front. thanks. mark

can you post it ?, i can tell you what it should be. here is an example. 1gcgd 34 j x gf xxxxxx. you have to have the first 8 just like this, then the 9th can be 0-9 or x. 10th is e,f or g, and maybe h depending on year, 11th is f, then sequence of six. let me know

they moved the build sheet to the glove box door in 85. of course they are removed /gone in a lot of cases. the vin on the dash should match the door post but i have had exceptions to this because the post plate can be easily removed. the vin is also stamped on the frame somewhere. i have never...

when you gutted the check valve that was a temporary fix at best, if you plan on keeping the truck rebuild the pump. gm had a problem in 84-85 with all 6.2 diesel pumps.

plan on rebuilding the pump, it will plug up again. the flex ring is coming apart inside the pump.

vehicles are titled by vin . 10th digit of the vin is the year model. e is 84, f is 85. g is 86. there were no 83 military 1009's. since you live in texas you can make a correction of the form 97 you got from the government on the 130u, app for certificate of title. ive done it many times...

where is your volt meter when running? should be solidly in the green when both alternators are energized. if you loose one alternator the needle will drop to the yellow-green line. thanks. mark
