It is nice to find those little gems. I just got 4 trailers back from Ft. Carson yesterday and in one of the 105's there was a vinyl cargo cover and some wheel chocks that were not in the pictures.
Hey Mark. We PMed back and fouth about driving trucks back. I finally had a days notice when I could break out to get my 818 so I boogied.
I-70 has some up and down grades from Harrisburg PA to Eastern Ohio. There are some 5% grades in WV after crossing the river. There are several tunnels...
Oh yeah. I forgot. Carma is coming around. I found a TM9-2320-260-10 and an LO 9-2320-260-12 (Laminated) in a three ring equipment logbook in a canvas sachel in the glovbox of the truck. At least someone did not get that and I was way happy to find it. Kind of helps takes the sting out of the...
First of all I would like to apologize to militarysteel for poping off the other day. You gotta admit though that you got a little personal with the shame on me and the pointing of the fat finger comments. However that does not make what I said right. So......I am hoping to burry the hatchet and...
We were a couple days out and needed to change our scheduled pickup time at Lockbourne by a day because we had brake problems on the trailer and were delayed. They accomodated our reschedule. Also when we got there the lady in the office said they were under new management by a year and that she...
See. This is what I'm talking about. Communication about the issue. If I had a heads up about missing parts from other people that bought stuff from there I would have had my guard up more and been more prepared. If this is an epidemic from any location or locations WE as SS members need to know...
I'm sorry not gonna disclose what is missing. That's gonna be between me, the guy that took stuff and whomever I decide to report it to. I am trying to get my ducks in a row.
OK. Here's where I'm at just to recap.
Proly not someone from SS that stole stuff. Could have been base personelle. Someone should be held accountable. I should contact the base CO. The term Bailment and it's definition (Good Point BTW). I should NOT contact the base CO. I should contact my...
I gotta say that Hundy has some REALLY nice trucks. I was just over there about a month ago. If anyone wants one that's the place.
Thankfully  I'm centrally located in the country so it is a hike for me to go anywhere to get a truck. Hundy is about 1000 miles from me and the truck I...
Me too brother. Good luck! I had H&S Towing get my truck out of there and to their storage yard as soon as I could arrange it because I have fallen victim to this kind of thing before. I can make the tow company somewhat liable but I am still unsure how that works from a GL/Army depot.
I agree it is not likely that this person is a SS member and I will likely not reach the culprit from this post......But you never know.
Maybe they needed this piece more than I did at the time and forgot to leave a note with their info and how we could settle up. Yeah! Right!
What I am...
OK........... So I just got back in the door from the excruciating trip we took to PA to get an M818 tractor. More details on that recovery when I have the pictures downloaded.
Keep in mind I, my Dad and my lady have been awake for 31+ hours straight now.
The topic I am bringing up here is...
The data plate for the engine should be on the passenger side of the engine. It is down from the manifolds and above the generator like doghead said toward the front of the block. It is quite visible. It will have all the engine data on it that disinguishes what type of motor it is.
If I...
**** the torpedos!!!!!!! Full speed ahead!!!!!!!!! Intrepid I say!!!!!!!
The absolute best thing I ever did was to buy my own M-37 so I did not have to "borrow" my Dad's anymore ........ And then the best thing I had ever done was to get my first deuce........That is right up to when I met my...
With all the MV's and farm equipment we have the battery connections are the first place I look with a starter problem. Great advice from Cranetruck. If they are loose or corroded I clean and replace as neccessary. Secondly the ground connections at the chasis for cleanliness and tightness. Then...
Something else you can do to test it is to have a cordless drill attached to the cable on the drivetrain side and spin the cable, slowly at first, to see how and where the speedo acts. You may need a partner for this test in the cab if you don't have enough cable length or arm length to see the...
OH! SWEET!!!!!!! That would be the ticket. Then you can put the air locker in all three axles and have the power divider. Then all you would have to do is put in an air shift selector for the t-case and you are totally ready to go.
What did they come out of originally?
If I understand correctly they will ratchet but it takes a lot to get them to do it, especially when they are new. And when they do ratchet it is more of a loud TINK! when the ratchet skips over a tooth. Really not much give like a clutch type of traction device. But they lock on for off road...
I agree. Not always feasable in an all wheel drive tractor truck. It is feasable in a 5000# Jeep. You just chirp the tires around a corner. That's why I was thinking the ARB's but if they don't make them or they are double the cost I would go with the detroits.
As a side note and I asked...
