So has anyone, upon acquisition, found one of these to be already converted to AW32? In the later rebuilds, were they still using 10 weight oil? How much better does it run with the AW32?

Couple of videos of #3 getting unloaded and then checking the backhoe out for the first time. Nothing you guys haven't seen in person! That's just some water on the ground that was trapped in or on the outrigger. The popping noise seems to be coming from the air regulator...

After cleaning out the cab, I found the bridge plate box and the letter plate and (2) sets of numbers. This stuff was in the truck painted NATO green, so I wonder if it spent some time overseas. Thanks for the link, General.

Since my comment about the mirrors, I talked to Scott at EI. He has some MRAP mirrors that he said will fit for only $25 apiece. He said they are a little bigger, but "lots of people are doing it". http://www.expedition-imports.com/015575549

Forgive my ignorance, General, but what is a bridge plate for?

I put my 3 on Uship for $1500 total, to move them from Montgomery, Aabama, to Jackson, MS. It's 240 miles 1 way. I paid another 7.5% to Uship, so it cost me $1612.99 total to have all 3 moved. I guess I paid about $2.23/loaded mile (after the 7.5%). Maybe I could have done it for less, but it...

#2 just rolled in, with #3 to follow tomorrow. I posted a few videos on YouTube if y'all want to check them out. Looks like I'm going to need mirrors, 3 so far. Any suggestions? Is that a basic Unimog part? Unloading off the trailer...

Thanks for for the generous offer. I will let you know. And regardless of the tires, let me know if you need anything when you pass thru Jackson.

Thanks for being so accomodating, CSM Davis. So were there any FLU419's down at Shelby or at the Seabee base on the MS Gulf Coast? I've never seen any pop up for auction anywhere in the state of Mississippi, other than 1 unit about a year ago at a state agency. It sold for about $30k!

Does anyone know of any other Mississippi FLU419 owners? Skidpad - looking forward to your comments once the new rubber is on. Can!t wait for my wiring diagram from General Hood to come in! Glad to know it's not 100% complete before I start pulling my hair out. I also went ahead and ordered...

Marty - I tried to PM you, but your box is full. No cracking on those tires? I might be interested. Are you going to be coming through Jackson, Mississippi, on your way to the rally?

How common is it for the SEE trucks to still have this mechanic's tool set, in addition to the hydraulic tools? What about the jack and wheel chock? I wonder why the military, while spending tax payer dollars, didn't go ahead and included the hydraulic impact wrench? It sure would make...

Tires look like they have almost new tread, but they are cracking. Spare is in very good condition. Scott at EI has a set of (4) new Continental MP81 on eBay for about $2300, obo, shipping included. My local tire store has something new for about $350 each that matches the size, but I'm not...

When Mog 1 landed last night, it took 3 trucks to get it cranked. 2007 year model batteries that hadn't been fired in at least 18 months didn't want to do jack. So I picked up some new batteries at NAPA today. They actually had 2 in stock and 2 more in the local warehouse, model 6TMF...
