I just got this back rest and it is a much different construction than the one I removed from my M49A1 ring mount.
It is NOS and has two labels on it.
One is dated 1/58 and the other dated 5/53.
It's made of a dense, rubbery, non-porous cushion material that is bonded directly to the steel...
A locked front diff is very difficult to turn in anything other than sand, mud or snow.
It is almost dangerous on a street driven truck where 4WD is used for bad road conditions.
I have an '84 K-30 plow truck with Detroit's front and rear and it's a love/hate relationship.
Maybe consider...
Papabear,
Looks like a rusty AFKX or similar lurking behind the M8 Greyhound and the White Scout Car.
Got any pics of that?

Once you're done, it's pretty easy to drop another 10K on trinkets to accessorize it also.;-)
Oh.......
Don't forget the 15- 50K for a rig to safely haul it too.
Farby,
I often wonder what you are talking about.
The M27 has nothing to do with a Set #7.
It also has more than one trolley, which I will optimistically choose to believe, are most likely the same as any overhead gantry of that era.
"Just" I beams? .........thanks for all your help.
WOT......
I am with the Farb on this one, it's a POS, too hard to find parts, not worth the fuel to go pick it up.
I'll bet someone painted the steering wheel and the carb is wrong, stick with what you know, the sky is falling............... so where is it?
I would like to thank Dennis for helping me out last Monday night.
Driving a newly purchased (used) plow truck from Pa to Mn I was stopping to pick some stuff up from him.
Didn't quite make it.
Got to within maybe 10 to 15 miles of his house and the truck crapped out.
He came and got me...
Set up a gravity fuel feed.
This will help isolate the problem for you.
Remember to disconnect/shut off fuel line into pump so fuel doesn't shoot everywhere.
Seems like you've done everything except the fuel lines.
They may have a blockage or restriction.
Karl,
Both are very capable vehicles.
I have a C303 so am a bit biased. It's one of the most fun trucks I've ever owned. Chicks dig it.
The biggest difference to me is Pinz is air cooled and the Volvo liquid. I prefer the latter.
Also the Volvo shares many engine and some drive line...
Hi Jeff,
How's it going?
Do you happen to know how the rear suspension was sprung on the 10 ton Sterling?
Judging from the one pic of the trucks rear, it looks very similar to a tandem set up that was put under a cadaver 8144 I have.
The pair in question I have are Timken top drives using...
