I've grooved my 900x20s and it makes a big difference on wet or snowy roads. It is a lot of work about 1 hr. per tire. For me though the work ended up to be worth it in my opinion. I used an Ideal tire groover with a #3 headand blade.

Wow what a good read! I was too young to know much about Viet Nam at the time but now I am learning why my cousins and other vets I know will not talk about it. That gave me a good lesson on painfull memories.

Definately not solid state far too big and old, but it does look like a voltage regulator. If the points aint pitted and the coils are not burned out it may still work.

Ha! Your just having Indian summer to us colder climate folks. I remember pulling my trans in my 63 chevy truck one balmy evening -10 degrees rebuilding it and putting it back in the next night -17 degrees.

If you have been driving it in the snow it might be frozen. Unthaw it one of 2 ways start it and let it just idle in neutral forever or go buy a weed burner torch and 20# propane bottle light it and put it under the front of the truck away from oil and fuel leaks of course! :shock:

The Marvel Mystery oil in the crankcase of a new engine is a bad idea get it out! It will thin the oil too much. You should have added some Marvel Mystery Oil to the gas though to act as an upper cylinder lubrcant and valve guide lubricant. Run your oil in the engine for 1 hr. with a zzdp zink...

DH you might have spring or summer whale oil in the tank. Wait untill summer before trying to start the truck. It should fire right up on the first 80-90 degree day.
