New pump installed. The guy at the Stanadyne shop asked me some questions and he said it probably needed to be advanced a bit...
There is no smoke and it idles very low and is sort of a dog. i have not turned it up as per Banks instructions but I will do that tonight.
I am usually running wvo but I'd like to be safe when running the ULSD and have a long life pump. So I guess when I get this pump rebuilt I'll ask for the cSt 1.2
As far as using engine oil in your fuel, Mercedes used to recommend a quart every now and then to help lubricate the pump. If you...
Well I am looking at a pump replacement now. The flex ring has gone and I am getting surging
If I amg going get this rebuilt should I get the cSt 1.2 which is for dry fuels?
Has anyone noticed what I have?
Lately, the diesel exhaust coming from my truck smell like a kerosene lamp/heater. In fact, I can't smell any diesel exhaust.
Am I just crazy or has something changed in the diesel fuel?
I haven't been able to do the 1/4 mile but my 0-60 is now 15 seconds
I have been trying to figure out an IP issue.
Yes, I installed the boost and EGT gauges.
checked all that... most of the lines are new
What I just noticed was ... there is an arm on the lower right side of the pump... it looks wet and the allen heas bolt that goes thru it seems to be un-screwed a few turns...
Thoughts?
I seem to have a fuel leak that wasn't there a week ago. It is dripping from the torque converter cover.
When increasing the fuel rate I replace the sealing washer on the guide rod and the cover gasket... but it is still leaking.
Can someone clue me in to any common fuel leak areas?
Thanks
HardCorps79 - Who are you talking to in KC? Who is your Stanadyne guy? I'm in KC and I think I am havine IP issues as well. I'd like to talk to someone about it.
How does one tell if the injector pump is going bad?
I just install a new banks turbo and followed the instructions to turn up the pump.
It says to turn it 1/4 turn... well I got it to turn maybe 3/16 and it stopped. I drove it around and noticed that it seems to fall off around 5/6 psi on...
So the install is complete and I have to say that it was not complicated nor difficult. I followed the steps, one at a time, and it all went together smoothly.
I think the only hang ups I had were the hose to the CDR being too short, the oil line bracket needed to be shortened, and the...
Look at pic 7... the top pipe is the one that goes from the turbo to about the center or center left of the oil pan... the bottom pipe comes from the mani forward... looks like it has a slight bend and then turns right to connect.
I get it now... it is because of the independent suspension... Call Banks... I bet you can buy just those two pieces.
piece 1 attaches to the mani
piece 2 attaches to the turbo
OR you might be able to cut piece one after the first bend so you just have a 90. Then cut piece 2 approx in front...
wait, if your cross over tube comes forward then goes between the cross member and oil pan then straight up... our turbo manifolds are different. If it were the same manifold, your crossover tube would need to bend down and cross under the cross member then reverse direction to get to where my...
