    OD Green Affliction

The Recovery: So I am off to MS at 10pm on a Fri night in Oct after work. It wasn't bad approx 700 miles each way. I took my wifes Nissan and a bunch of Mt Dew and beef jerky and a friend to drive the Nissan back and keep me awake. We make it to Tupelo MS at about 12:30pm and I call the seller...

    OD Green Affliction

I will introduce myself and then get into my first project. First a little background, like most of us here I have loved military trucks since I was a kid. I have always wanted to get 1 or 5. Ten yrs ago I was stopping to look at Deuces for sale on the side of the road. I finally did the...

    Deuce camper question

Hey Jim, rivets seem to take up most of my time lately. That's between 2 deuces and the van body. I sure look forward to the aluminum rivets though. The front spring perches on the deuce can be time consuming.

    Deuce camper question

Phil2968, you may want to look at Peterbuilt parts. The 379's have a vinyl cover that snaps in over the rubber seal. Some variation of this will really help keep moisture out. Take a look inside a P-Built semi w/sleeper if you have the chance. Are you planning on making a hole the size of the...

    Deuce camper question

Jim, your van body is really clean. Mine is a Grumman from 79. I won't have to worry about rust. I will keep my Multi-fuel and bob the rear end to 15 1/2' centers. I have some semi tanks that should fit under the body. I will also be putting an enclosed trailer together with generator and air...

    Deuce camper question

This body will be going on 1 of my frames. It is 23' long and the frame rails were 34" outer width.

    Deuce camper question

That sounds like a nice monster truck in the works. I will post some pictures tom. I will probably post a new thread in hotrodding for my project. I have been at it on weekends+ since March.:jumpin: My wife is already throwing around words like obsession. I might have to bob one out for her...

    Deuce camper question

nhdiesel, I am currently taking pictures every weekend as I get more done. I will take some of the body tom. morning. It is about 4' up on the stands, waiting for a empty frame to call home. I am glad I was able to give you a reason to dress up this post. Is there an icon for another hijacked...

    Deuce camper question

I suppose I will be crucified for this but here I go. I am putting an aluminum "bread truck" body on a deuce frame. The main reason is for long trips I would have the ability to pull over and sleep without a ladder and have contact with my passengers throughout the trip. On the subject of...

Armed Forces Day Ft McCoy, WI

I suppose I will opt for early. Anyway, I will be going to Iola. I do feel the need to get together with the WI guys this summer. I am very close to the Bunker in Waterford. Thanks for the heads up Dr. Greg!

Armed Forces Day Ft McCoy, WI

Does anybody have a real date for this one? I don't know that my truck will be ready for any distance rallies but I would like to try for late summer Wi/Il. I am in SE Wi, 30 min south of Milwaukee. I would love to get back up to Ft McCoy. It has been years since I spent ordinance there.

Am I asking for too much?

Hello Gentlemen, I have to agree about breaking things up. Sticker shock may in fact be killing your deal. Has anyone had any luck selling MV parts/vehicles on Gunbroker? I do agree about FleaBay. Clist is hit and miss. IMO there are a lot of Deuces on ebay. That of course, will make higher...

    How to..... Transmission Changeout.

Kendelrio, nice write up. I will be pulling a trans soon. The tools used were a nice touch. I think I will be by myself with a bobcat. How much do we think that tranny weighs?

    395/85/20 Tires installed

Mikew, thank you for the numbers! I am going to use G177s to single my truck. They are better in the rain and perform well off road. I can always get a set of 395's and rims as a spare set when I run across the right deal.

singled deuce tires: Goodyear or Michelin?

You just helped make up my mind Westech. Would you be kind enough to share some more info on the G177's. MPG/power, top speed/RPM,pros and cons. I ask only to help with the comparison. I Do you know of any places to get 20x11" aluminum rims in the Madison or Milwaukee Area? It tends to be...

    395/85/20 Tires installed

Mikew, thanks for the info. I do prefer the 395's too. The picture was a nice touch! How were your MPG's w/ the G177s any significant impact on rpm at top speed?
