Today my son and I worked on Nebulous. I cleaned the rear seat up right nice while my son took an old rear tailgate latch and drilled a hole straight through from side to side. He took an old scrap rod and inserted it from side to side then bent over the ends. That latch won't fall off again. We...
I used the ones that were still there. Cleaned them up a bit and put some on some white lithium. If they break, they break and I'll deal with it later. When I'm at the pull a part I'll check every tailgate I can find. It's that stinkging, goat-smelling, horrible tail-gate handle that gives me...
Had a Gen 2 light on, had to jump Nebulous and went to Autozone to have the 2 x 6-month old batteries checked out before I went further. Opened the hood and low/behold the front fan belt had broken and was wrapped around the fan. Got a new belt while I was there, tested the batteries anyway...
Initial fit. Still have to put down a sealant underneath it. I want to paint the underside of it before locking it down permanently. You can see the old one and how rusted it is. Also covered that hole behind the passenger seat by pop riveting a piece of steel there.
Sorry I have been conducting an investigation and just got to work on it today a bit. Glued the rocker panels, was going to work the cover when both my tailgate cables broke and I almost broke my neck. Thought I could just go get some cable from Lowes and reuse the ends but...
My beef is the poor design of the handle crank to move the rear window up and down. I almost wish they'd just put in a darn window handle crank - of which I may do. I must admit I took my rear cover off to grease (white lithium) the gears and remove trash and rust but it still helps to pull up...
Got the seats out of a Toyota van. I used the bases from the CUCV not had to re drill some holes and use large washers as spacers so the seats would move along the sliders. They recline and with the upper lever lay forward so passé can get in the back.
Got to work on the initial fit and cutting of both rocker panels. Below are some photos, and drivers side I was able to cut more out of the replacement because there was a lot less rust there. Sti. Going to shape them a bit for a more snug fit before screw and glue. Debating on grinding down the...
I took second row seats from a Totota Minivan outta the pull it parts place and aligned, drilled new holes in my current seat braces. Set them back in. I got some mending to do on floor cracks but I gotta plan. 😬
Looking good! Didn't take pics but my wrists hurt after pop riveting those rear corners, but you can rest assured they are better than original. I'll use the leftovers to fix floor cracks by the front seats.
Negative, I've seen your Terminus fabricated box structure. Do you have a different design? Because I was going that direction if I can't get a PVC pipe I could fab up. Rocker panels take over tonight's work.
Yes sir, I found a couple CUCV bodies lying around on Ft. Knox but can't touch them. Nazi's here won't even put them in DRMO so I can get the "small parts" from them. I thought about the self tapping screws but for this application I think I'm going to use the pop rivets as you indicated. Rust...
