If someone will take some good pictures of the door area around the handle, I will make them up a couple of plates to try out. If you can tape a 12" ruler to the door so I can get a scale factor, it will help. I can get galvanized padlock loops cheaply from McMaster carr, or Ace for that...
I saw a lot on the GL site in Fla. I think there are 43 or so 10 lug hubs from a trailer that hauled the minuteman missiles. I will see if I can find the link and post it. They look like they would be a good start for a wheel adapter.
Spicergear- Have you checked on flame cut blanks for your...
I don't think that will work As far as I know, on the forward sprag it will only drive the diff to go forward. On the reverse sprag, it will only drive backwards. If you disconnect the shift rod from the trans. to the t-case, you lose the ability to have the correct sprag engaged automatically...
According to the manual, the transfer case has a forward and reverse sprag. There is a shifting arrangement in the transfer case that shifts the from the forward to the reverse sprag as the tranny is shifted. The sprag unit works like the overrunning clutch on an old tractor PTO. It only locks...

Try a small paint pressure pot. They are cheap used, and would work just fine. I just bought a new 2 1/2 gallon unit complete for $225. I have seen a lot of them sell for 20 bucks in the past.

A lot of these trucks have many layers of paint. Westech found 9 layers on his. Most of the older paint was an alkyd enamyl, with a lot of flattening paste to kill the gloss. From what I have seen, a good cleaning was all the prep work that was done before spraying on another coat. I believe the...

This is a brake pack kit for a 5 ton, bringing $10 at the moment.

OK. There is probably nothing wrong with your transfer case!
Assuming this is the M54 you are working on, your transfer case is the sprag type. The front drive shaft is slightly overdriving the rear shaft, and the sprags (overrunning clutch, like a starter drive) do not engage. If your rear...
I will hunt down the manual tomorrow and send it to you. It may be a fairly large file, let me know if you have a dial up connection. If you do, I will see if I can't just send you the troubleshooting section.

Get the McMaster Carr catalog out and get some stainless steel padlock loops. Mount the loop to the cab about 1" back from the edge of the door. Now, scrounge a piece of 1/8" thick stainless, 2x4", and slot it for the loop. You can mount this to the door with SS carriage bolts. This looks good...
Is he going to take the winch out? or sell it with the truck? He might come down on the price if you didn't want the winch. Personally, I would be leery of a winch that has been used by housemovers, they really get a work out! Is it welded to the frame?
Sounds like this one would be mainly a...
