I don't know how much rock climbing and mudding my planned acquisition will need to do, but good to know there are options out there if you want to run 60-65 in a 1009 without setting your teeth on edge from the thing running too high in the RPM range
SO it sounds like 32's are a good bet for running down the highway, but not so bad it won't climb a hill. Do the 32's need much bigger rims or much of a lift to fit?
My 109 a4 is already over 10k with purchase, tires, batteries, fluids, o-rings, bulbs and all the other things it already has needed. To say I am over my initial budget would be an epic understatement.
Still some of the best $ I've ever spent. Would do it again in a minute.
I wouldn't have. It wasn't your fault, and it would have been worth it to me to see an insurance adjuster figure out how to get you a new tank, and have all the paint match. :)
If a seam in the tank starts leaking in 6 months from the dinger, you will have no recourse but your own wallet...

I have the switches figured out, I just have some burned out bulbs in some of the guages in the cluster. Gotta figure the bulbs, plus the swap. My absurd work schedule is going to keep me away from my 109 in daylight until the weekend. If there's a suggestion on how I can get bulbs inbound BY...
I guess this means my local auto parts store is not going to have this ;)
I guess I also better get an account open @ Erik's, this is going to be my third order in 3 weeks, and it's a bummer that I shouldn't drive it before it's inspected on the commiewealth roads.
again, a gasket, or is this more like a 'new turbo' type thing?
the leak looked too 'high up' to be the oil filter.
It is a shame that an engine that JUST hit 1,000 miles has a leak of this size. It's a little disappointing, really, age or not......
