That's half the battle with the title..check for the rust areas and the weld job and that sounds like a good project....as for the handling...the M151's and A1's had the same rear suspension...think early VW..on a higher speed turn the tendency was for the rear wheels to'tuck...

I wouldnt overlook a 1/2 cut M151...heck I have one....BUT..it has to be a very good re-weld..normal 1/2 cuts were near the battery box area,make sure the re-weld is re-enforced along the cut section..I'd be leary of just a butt weld along the cut...bolt on stuff,engines and...

Hi...the stock size tires for an M416 are 700-16's...he can get them from Lucas tire or summit racing both have locations in OH .....close civi equiv size is 215-85-16

I've looked at these products also..thinking about the smooth finish for a M151 project...here's the company site and tihe color samples of the 'orange peel' or rough texture and smooth finish...I like the looks of both the OD and sand colors...

Hi Tom...airtex had a # but it has been discountinued...best try saturn surplus,front line military,muttparts,rapco,tnj murray or red river military parts....people have said that a '60's valiant slant 6 fuel pump will fit but is NOT identical....I think rapco had 2 different ones...

These parts dealers have them... www.flmv.net and www.rapcoparts.com get the correct mil spec parts for the M151 and be done with it...a person may save a few $$ trying to make a civi part work..but is it really worth it?
deuce cargo covers

According to figures,apx 19 P-40's worldwide are flying with about the same # being restored...compared to the 200 P-51's just in the USA...they're rare....I mean we can split hairs.... surviving F-82's= rare...flyable P-40's=not so much

The aftermarket has done it with the replica FW-190's and ME-262's...now they are doing a P-51 FULL SIZE replica called the AP-51 palomino....they figure it would cost apx $75000 to complete an exact replica of a WWII mustang at half the cost of a real one...this would be a great idea...
