Aloha....for sheer 'what the heck is that'...then the Ural is a good choice...it does have some military roots....if you can afford one I'd get a WWII WLA Harley or Indian....I've got the relative of the Ural the Dnepr bike with hack...LOADS of fun to ride...if you're good at working on your own...
This is for all the C5 lovers out there...a video of a short take off with the older engines....NOTHING sounds like this!..Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08xDA2PSSWA
Here's another company that offers DYI kits...smooth or textured finish...available in OD green, tan and sand and other colors...at $119 a gallon for textured and $139 for smooth not cheap but may last a LOT longer.... www.durabakcompany.com

A lot of people think that the M151A2 was NEVER was deployed to Vietnam...MP units DID have them along with Airborne units...here's some pics of A2's in Phubai,Pleiku,Da nang and Saigon.
Contact me as I have a LOT of extra Vietnam gear that I have for our living history displays....ED
Aloha...there are usually quite a few people/dealers with low mileage complete take-out A2 powerpacks....I'd take your current engine out as a spare and look for one of the low mileage t/o's...MUCH cheaper then rebuilding....

M274 fule pumps
I've found the best price for a mule fuel punp at FLMV and saturn surplus...OR you can order one from your local o'reillys,shucks..one even had free shipping to the store...it's an Airtex #1202...as for the carbs..from time to time you'll see real good deals on ebay with free...
24087'd the deuce
Looks great!...question,did you roll or spray the Behr?....Im leaning more towards the 24087 for my 5 ton gun truck...really depends on the late 1968 time frame when the GT was originally built to the 70-71 look.
civi tires on an M416
The M416 and the M151 share wheel/tires...My M151A2 has stock military rims with 225-75-16 good years..NO tubes..NO leakage...the 215-85-16 is almost identical size wise to the mil 700-16...it's not as common as it is a dually tire...if you want civi radials then try...
I was emailed some pics from a 2nd TC guy who helped build Madam Pele...sorry for the quality of the photos...negatives long gone...hopefully he'll find a way to make me some better quality copies...a couple of the pics show the 2nd TC compound...even a couple of a Hawaiian style luau.
Well I pulled the trigger on the 'new to me' 1966 Kaiser-Jeep m54A2....this truck will be the foundation of my long planned Vietnam gun truck replica...when she arrives this weekend I'll start the slow/expensive transformation.....she'll probably be the first western US Vietnam gun...
