The commercial off the shelf sister to the M-Gator is the John Deere TH-Diesel 6x4 of a comparable age. The original M-Gator being discussed in this thread is olive in color and had some additional reinforcements added to the frame to meet the requirements for the military sling load and tie...
He won the auction for $3,311, this unit was one of five up for grabs without a trailer and along with another that ended at $3,311 it was the least expensive winning bid out of the five.
His unit did however have the second lowest hour meter reading of the lot (another had 7 hours) and his...
I've had pretty good luck with both of my 002a's from Sparta. The first was bought for $1060 as a PU-751/M without a tarp but had most of the other goodies, ground rods, hammer, ect. It had 46 hours and had been recently serviced with the exception of batteries. It had definitely sat outside...
When I picked my PU-751/M from Sparta the M116A2 Trailer chains were just a few links too short to hook to my vehicle receiver. You'll want to have something to fill in the gap if you plan to pull the trailer home.
It looks like the chains on 7403 had been lengthened so that they'd be easier to...
Am I allowed to post links to the auctions now that they've ended?
Edit to add: if you know your lot number or if you had the one with ripped canopy on the trailer I can post your pictures for you :)
Congrats, I have sneaking suspicion that they were leftovers (trailered) from the last lot of 17 MEP-002a's which sold from Sparta back on Nov 17th. Many from that lot were freshly serviced with new filters, batteries, and all the goodies in 2013, and appear to have been prepped for long term...
Just as an FYI for those interested, it looks like the fittings I have on my MEP-002a are Aeroquip 491-5 fittings for use with Aeroquip 491 hose.
They look exactly like this:
I found them for $5ea here: http://www.exercise-equipment-parts.com/ms24587-4.html but I'm not sure about shipping...
A quick Google search resulted in this company:

They claim to have material with an 18oz weight... maybe that's the missing piece of the puzzle as the ahh.biz material is only 14oz? Do you guys think another 30% material thickness would be a...
Like Issac-1 said, if you could post more pictures, even just one from each side of the machine, I wouldn't be surprised if the folks here could tell you exactly what is needed to get that machine running.
Great use of surplus right here. You certainly have a skill for the welding trade. If you ever do any more work like this please continue to post pictures, it's an inspiration to more people than you'd think!
I set off to set up my MEP-002a for a load test today. Ran to the hardware store and picked up a 4500w 240v water tank heater element to test with.
Since the generator is new to me I hadn't had to move the reconnection switch from 120v/1 phase (up) which is where it was located when I purchased...
