Can anyone ID this Dodge chassis?

Half ton Dodge, without winch. Could have been anyone of the weapons carrier (pickup types - not ambulance, command car) but probably was a closed cab, as many were used on construction of Alaska (ALCAN) Highway.

    Road Speed

The M37s we had in VietNam would hit the governor at about 46 MPH indicated on speedometer. If you have ever REALLY NEEDED to stop, 45 is way fast enough for the stock brakes (that are in servicable condition), even with no cargo.

    Crew Cabbin'

Go over to the Dodge Power Wagon site. Some folks there have experience with doing crewcab on the flat fender - brother to the M37. http://dodgepowerwagon.com/wwwboard/index.html

    Vapor Lock Issues??? Help

My experience with M and WC series Dodges: The first thing to look at when "vapor lock" is suspected is the fuel pressure at the carb (inexpensive in-line pressure gage is the ticket!). Most problems are related to tiny air leak (pin holes in gas line, loose fittings or cracked line flares) or...

    m37 transmission gear oil

TM calls for 90 at +32 degrees. In all my WC Dodges, I use the national brand stuff in the blue jug from NAPA.

Need Help with new to me M37

I once had a problem with my Command Car (WC56) when putting in my rebuilt engine. Had good spark, fuel, all the things you mentioned. Come to find out that when the oil pump went back in (top gear drives the distributor) the setting was one gear tooth off, therefore distributor was not timed...

M35a3 lost power and now nothing

Gradual reduction of power (with stalling at the extreme) = fuel filter problem. Happend to me twice. Cut the fuel filters apart, and from gunk inside, don't know how she ran as long as she did...!

can someone tell me the tongue weight of an empty m105 trailer???

For standard M105A2, not loaded: 310 pounds on pintle. With landing gear assembly removed, its much less. Without landing gear assembly, I moved mine around on the driveway by myself, (not very far - ha!!!).

    WC-63 Brake Cylinder Compatibility

You can get the wheel cylinders at NAPA (just remember "big-in-back" when putting them on!). Go to this web site: http://dodgepowerwagon.com/wwwboard/index.html Its all about powerwagons, but the also cover WW2 Dodges. While there, click on the link "PIF" this is cross references to parts...

    ATF in M35A3 CAT 3116

Hmmmm - Smoke? I have put over 12,000 miles on my M35A3 over the past 2 years and it has never smoked; up hill, down hill, loaded... (except for a puff at startup when I have let her sit for a month without running)

Dodge WC series Throttle Pedal location ?

Garret - I'm a touch over 6' 3" and at 300lbs. The gas pedal just takes some getting used to. At first it seems to be pretzel like, but it works out.... I did lean my Command Car seat back about 2 inches - easy to do and does make a bit of difference (and drove it cross country 5500 miles in...

    M35A2 Oregon Title and Reg

Local Oregon DMV had me do my M35A3 (1993) as "Truck" when I bought it 3 years ago. Subsequently, (and only recently) it has been suggested to me to investigate "special" plate. I have, as yet, not a clue what that means referrence OR DMV, but was told limits use. Mark

Deuce Still wandering across the lane

sandcobra - My problem was NOT due to a bad tire. I did not take the time to tell the full story: I put 1500 miles on the truck trying many different suggestions from experts. The tires wore down more than 50%. I then swapped the steering tires with the "as new" rear tires. Still pulled...

Deuce Still wandering across the lane

VOLFE - I cant address the 395 tires and wandering, but I did have a problem with my new-to-me M35A3 that had a persistant pull-to-the-right. I followed the manual for allignment. Did the string method 5 times. Still pulled. On some good advice from a MVCCO club member, took my truck to The...

    Driving a deuce though California

Or, for the challenge, Take the view route and stay out of K'for: I-5 to Salem, 20 to Bend, 97 to LaPine, 31 to 395 to 140 to Adel. Then 3/34 to Gerlach and on down 447 to I80 and home.... Of course ---- there are some looong lonely streches....

Six (6) M35A3's made the Alaska Highway Convoy this year (1 from Alabama, 2 from Iowa, 1 from Texas, 1 from sothern Cal, and mine from Oregon). ALL use motor oil --NO problems - can you say 60,000 miles of ardous conditions...?!? A highly paid mucky muck related to Allison told me swapping oil...
