I purchased a convoy light kit at the MVPA convention.
Just last month, my son and I put it on our M35A3.
We decided to mount only one light, put it on the driver's side.
(For my needs - one is enough to provide visibility I want.)
Mounted it to the existing bracket for the MB ring leg mount.

Screw on filter that has threads down on the 3116, so you cant fill it.
Cat folks have some pretty strong language about not filling fuel filters.
Just screw it on - flip on the long switch and wait for 20 seconds and then hit the starter. Mine always fills and fires right away...

Take two. If there are contaminants in the tank or system, they will end up in the filter. The system cycles a LOT of fuel back to the tank and will stir up everything so best be prepared..... (truck will seem to loose power, may not reve high enough to shift and you think you...
Quote: "I was the lucky guy to be offered a 1944 WC37. it started and drove home. We use it for getting our firewood."
You have a 3/4 ton Dodge: either a WC51 or WC52 (flat hood, flat grill), with Artic Cab (early 1950's), and non issue winch, bumper, running board or bed.
However, it looks...
I understand the rationale for placement of the filter by Cat.
Agree with glcaines on two accounts: When the filter broke free from being on tight, I too easily removed it by hand - and the new one went on easily...
I too was drenched in fuel when clearing the fuel separator - when the...
When I picked up my -a3 from GL, I did a complete by-the-book PM and motor stables, pulling all the drain plugs to check for "other materials" and draining fuel from the fuel/water separater. I did not change any of the filters, as the fluids really appeared 'cherry'.
About 1100 miles after...
I put over 3M on my -a3 this past month.
3 days at 500 miles, 2 days over 400 miles, 3 days over 200 miles
4 days of that was mid to upper 90 degrees outside; other days were upper 80s.
2 days of significant climbing (Rockies and Cascades)
Never exceeded 45 MPH or 2500 rpm indicated on gages...
Quick Addendum:
2501.2 miles on trip from Dayton to home
10.305 miles per gallon, average
$3.864 per gallon average price
interestingly - on TMC'09 convoy, I drove my 1943 Dodge WC56 Command Car and got 10.01 miles per gallon average on 5500 miles.
Certainly cant complain...
