It is easy enough to find out an M-816 cost the government around $150k when new. So how much did my M-37 cost Uncle Sam back in '53? Any documentation out there?
I pulled my LU4 with an engine hoist (cherry picker) seemed to go smoothly installing as well. I pulled the shear pinion on the input shaft and pulled the drive shaft off. Then removed the mounting bolts.
Ok, got a couple of questions here. I have already found out getting 11.0-16 tubes is no easy task. What are the codes for valve types? IE, what is a TR15CW valve? What is the code for the steel valve that I want? Maybe a TR75A? I just want to do it right the first time. Any one got a...
Well, All I got to say is thank God I didn't have far to go. That was one heck of a down pour. Yes my right foot was wet. I installed the new rubber windshield seals yesterday afternoon. Now to track down some 11.00 - 16 tubes and flaps.
I got my Michelin 11.00-16 XL's in and they look great (Not mounted yet, sorry). Ok, now I have a question. :?: These tires are used and have a bit of CARC oversparay on them. What solvent can I use to clean it off and not damage the rubber? After it is done is there some thing I can apply...

RE: some before you pics
Thanks for the photos there Lane. I will have to check out the rims. Don't really notice any vibration, but I will definitly look into it. I plan on using the balancing beeds in the tubes instead of wheel weights.
Dave, aka 67beast, I will PM you with my phone...
Ok here are the finished photos. I have installed the Seabee decals I got form Dave Schwarz at http://www.i2k.com/~schwarzd/ I will be sending Dave some photos so he can post them on his web page. I am driving in a local 4th of July parade today. It is going to be great!

RE: left hand light
Brian~
Only on the back. I am going to give it a try. I followed a few old style tail lights at the Findlay show and I really liked them. Truck is comming along, I should have it back together in a day or so. Michelin XL's have been ordered.
Thanks Jones for the tip...
RE: numbers
Thanks for the tip CGarbee. The wire tag list is invaluable! Thanks so much for posting the link. I am going to print a copy for my records. The 24087 painting is comming along, I am going to tackle cleaning up and preping the winch tonight. I will post some photos.
RE: numbers
Yes, my guess is that the position of each wire comming out the back is the same on all of these tail lights. The tag numbers for the composite are 21, 22, 23 & 24 I don't know what extra light the composite fixture has but if I can figure what wire is what tag number that would...
CGarbee, that is funny what you said about the cranking speed. My brother was just amazed each time I started my truck. He couldn't believe it starts, said "sounds like it ain't going to start and then away it goes" And that was with a dead generator. Cranks a bit faster now that the...
