You can put A2 steering gearbox and column on an A1 no problem. Acctually this is a suggested "mod" as it is easier to service the gear. I think the pittman gear will interchange but not the column gear.
I rebuilt mine, the -34 has it all. I got the seals at a local Bearing Distributors.
Good to see you got it up on the rotisserie. It won't balance out intill you get the suspension parts off. Good call on replacing the unistrut (I've always meant to do that).
For the costs involved it was well worth it. I couldn't imagine welding the underside without it.

The camber is straight, that's why I'm seeing a straight axel. I know that the wheels will be straight under load, but the truck pictured has no load to speak of. That's my point.
It's all mixed up. Definitely an A1 origionally. As time progresses, repairs and upgrades could have been made. If it has been in Thailand, it is probable that as old A1 parts were worn out or broken they were replaced with what was on hand. Looks as though the rear has been replaced with a...
