i have said in a previous post about price that my grandfather and i have had our eye on an m818 that he found out about when he had to go over and help bleed the air out of the fuel system and pretty much fell in love with the truck because it has the 250 cummins so a question that would be...
so i got to thinking and i think i have figured out a way to solve the driveline angle problem. i think extending the frame say 5 or 6 feet would fix the angle problem and allow a triple crew cab mod to be installed without much if any reduction in cargo space
I don't need much in return I thought it would be cool to do and this is just an idea I haven't the time nor the money to do anything like this yet but for me to get the idea to the point of being doable I have to start with something insanity irrational and stupid and get input to develop it to...
My grandfather always liked them said they were slow but didn't break much and it seems like it would fit in the engine bay well so I wouldn't have to make the truck that ugly and they are quite common. Then again a 3208 cat would be cool. I didn't really think this out too well but that's how I...
So I know this seems kinda stupid/impractical and I'm just asking this for chits and giggles but how hard do you thing it would be to swap a dt466 and a road ranger into a deuce. Also I got to wondering about a 2 speed rear end swap.
A good question would be what should I look for in the truck like what generally breaks on the truck with age and what pretty much never breaks unless you really beat the crap out of it. Any info like that will help as I know virtually nothing about these trucks except the basics.
If I ever get around to it I will but it does need new tires cause they are dry rotted and it will need a new fuel line run from tank cause of some bs patch that involved a ball valve type thing that will let air into the system if you we're to hit it by accident
So what's a good price for a m818 in decent shape not amazing a little rust here and there that runs well. I'm asking because my grandfather knows where there is one he thinks he can get for something like $2000-2500 and I'd like to know if that's a realistic price for someone to sell one for...
