wheels and tires for 1009
I picked up a set of wheels and tires for my 1009... found these 16"X7" steel 'rockcrawlers' and I just so happened to have 7 'spare' goodyear wrangler MT/R's (4 new and 3 used) tires for them... want to go to 16"s on the Blazer.... get load range E tire on there...
And got to meet 'hokie8358' today while I was picking up this crack free dash I snagged from ebay Saturday... always nice to find a member that isn't too far away. Nice ride hokie8358... remind me to never ever drag race you... that was one nice 1008 you were driving. Can't wait to put in my...
just out of hair and makeup
So I am way behind on updates... but here is a start for CUCV pics:
Had the 1008 painted recently... here are a few pics. Had local body guy I know do it... used acrylic enamal (sorry don't have number handy) but it was from PPG. Did a Raptor liner in bed as...
Good deal. I grew up just north of there. Many of the local Sheriff's offices had these for just that reason... Hunting dope in the woods after it was spotted from the air.
Hit up under that beast with some jasco prep and then the rustoleom and you will be good to go. Salt load is pretty low...
transmission sample test
Here is the transmission sample. I had to pull the transmission so I took a sample w/o filter change to just see what it would show. I have since dropped the pan and changed filter and fluid and I am going to run 10k on this next run... just that 10k will take me 2...
Oil analysis from CUCV
Here is a oil analysis sample like you would get from your truck. I have ran several on all my vehicles... I have also ran a sample from the transmission.
I have removed my original due to 'personal info' posted.
I have only seen these on the 1028 series but think they may have been on the 1031s. I get regular samples ran by black stone labs. CUCV included. I will get on computer later and see if I can attach one. These lab analysis can really tell you a lot about a diesel engine or even a transmission...
Wanted to share this over on the Gamma Goat side of things. I posted some pics on the CUCV side from days at NC Forest Service. Digging through computer hard drive from 10+ years ago and found these jumbled in there. This was our 'junk yard' of old inventory. I was with a Army vet when I...
Here are pics I took of our 'junk yard' at the forest service... full of full tracks (113's?) Someone at the office had a thing for getting these 'free toys'... had the plan to use them during major fire incidents. I need to get some of these on the other forums. Don't know if these are still up...
Was this Dodge a form of CUCV? I don't think it was 880 it was too new I remember. Digging through old hard drive today where everything is really mixed up, but found some of my old surplus pics. These were was taken about 10-12 years ago while I was with the NC Forest Service.
We would get...
Taken about 12 years ago... NC Forest Service salvage yard in Avery? County. I remember going up there one day to get 'armor plate' for dozer protection... had a pile of that and many full tracks. I was digging through files taken off my old computer and came accross some early digital camera...
I bought the monroe HD shocks from local parts store... buy 3 get one free online. Just ordered for 1984 K30 1ton SRW and they work great. Just be sure to soak those old nuts a day before with some penatrating oil... they don't like to move after all those years...
I was able to make a junkyard trip last week while traveling for work... Hendersoville, NC Robert Love's the owner and has a nice fleet of CUCV's and other OD iron. Had to get a few goodies for my newly aquired 1009
KM2's
Great tire! They make them in the 285/75 and my FAVORITE on the CUCV 255/85.... 3cm's narrower, but about 1.5cm's taller... and the 255 is normally cheaper.
Good tire and I plan buy them when my current 255/85 mud dawgs die.... won't be long.
and kudos for sending pics
