av8rnik, In pics No. 3 and 7, I see you have what appears to be a line running from your vacuum actuator for your blow off calve to someplace on your motor. are you using vacume from your vacuum pump to open the valve and regulate your boost pressure? I had planned on just fabricating a turbo...
nyoffroad, I agree with you 100% the idea was more of kind of a thought experiment than anything. Another reason I had thought of for going with an M1010 setup would be to allow the placement of a your style compressor on the DS alt location for on board air.
Keith_J, I want to study your...
I was wondering if it would be possible to use the mounting brackets and such from an M1010 to put a 3rd alt. on my M1008 for camper use and such? I was looking briefly over the TMs and saw how both alts are mounted on the pass side on the M1010 to allow for the AC compressor. I am sure this...
Hi!, I have an in line coolant heater that came w my truck. not a pump but works on convection.. I have also had block heaters in the past. IMHO, the inline heater seems to work better and as mentioned, is alot easier to install. I have also thought these look interesting, you can do a search...
bushhawg73, I noticed that, what I was talking about was a way to be able to mount it front AND rear with the same mount as the distance between the frame extensions is different front to rear.
eme411, I wll chk out the odor of the exhaust. All of my fluids have been at normal level and "clean"
FMJ, yes, the guy at the shop that did the machine work is familiar with the 6.2l and 6.5l and their issues, hes said he magnifluxed the c*** out of it
eme411, would you recommend that even though they are brand new? I am going to have to get a compression tester that will work with a diesel, mine is only for gassers. I saw a set the other day at Harbor Freight, I am pretty careful what I buy there, has anyone had experience with their...
I took my truck on a 200 mile round trip today. It runs soooo good! smooth as a sewing machine, definitely more power after the injector change. Just the darn smoke!! When I bought the motor I rebuilt it was running but when I got it apart, the heads on both sides had cracks between the intake...
Hi av8rnik, I don't know if you want to only use one of the two vendors you mentioned, I just bough injectors from Summit for $39.95/ea free shipping. They are new Bosch injectors.
eme411, they did not have caps over the tips, the tops were capped, sealed in corrosion resistant bags and individually boxed. That is a thought for sure, I just think it would be pretty odd to have the exact same problem. I will keep that though in mind, thanks!
FMJ, yes, it cranks nice and even. Its so fast it would almost be hard to pick out an unevenness. I just went for a drive again and the first cpl miles it didn't smoke at all, then after a min or two of idle, I took off and it had started smoking again. Maybe it will eventually clear up like...
Hello all! I have been having an issue with the passenger side smoking a whitish, very slightly blue tinged smoke ever since I rebuilt my 6.5l. I had a slight ticking and it would only smoke when I was accelerating. Today I replaced the 4 injectors on the pass side with 4 new Bosch injectors...
99nouns, you had mentioned following my injector rebuild. After doing some more research its a lil more involved than just replacing nozzles. To do it correctly, you need to lap a cpl of surfaces and such, not alot of work but more than I have time for so today I just ordered a set of Bosch...
Hello all! I was doing some looking around for other things and came across these injector lines from Accurate Diesel.
They say they can be used on the older 6.2l with a lil ?tweaking" at the injector end.
I have not personally dealt with them, but these might help alot of members out who have...
I had a similar issue, when I posted on it Doghead suggested grounds. I started with the front left TS socket, thats where my issue was, I found that the ground tab inside the socket was broken. In my case, I had enough tab to pull it up and rebend it and it hs worked fine. If the sho did not...
Trooper632, yes, you can do what you asked about. I did this temporarily until I get my turbo installed. There is a small brass "T" on the frame, right under the firewall. The steel line from the tank stops and restarts there. I just ran a new line straight up the firewall to the filter input...
