Can you expound on this a bit? Maybe in another thread so we can keep it in one location. I am always trying to plan ahead on these trucks for when some parts are no longer available. Distributor parts and the military spark plugs are a concern to me since Autolite quit making the military plugs.

This is how your master cylinder should look inside. If it has this in it, take it off the spring.

I think you either have a problem inside your airpak, a restricted brake hose or there is a check valve in your master cylinder for those brakes to be hanging up like that.

Hopefully it is just the rotor. Let us know what solves the problem.

I have no experience to offer, but I have read where people have used a CCKW transfer case and transmission with success. These were old write ups with no pictures or video. It will be neat to see what you come up with.

Great info!! Thanks!! Every time I have pulled the cover off of the cooler in various trucks, there has been a lot of crud settled in the bottom of them. For discussion sake, what do you think of the write up that recommends Hytran in the transmission? It's sure hard to argue with the success...

I am almost certain that Memphis Equipment has those. Call them. They don't list much online. It would be neat to find a modern replacement too. Please let us know what you find if you go the modern replacement route.

Does he have all the parts to rebuild the reduction unit? Some of the other suppliers have a hard time coming up with those.

It has been almost a year and I am still dealing with wheel cylinders leaking one by one. I've decided to get the Wagner WC15306 cylinders or give Ralph at Niagara a call to see if he still has NOS Canadian surplus wheel cylinders. Hopefully those will be the solution. I've gotten quite good at...
