You are correct. That unit was at Warner Robbins, not Albany as I thought. It stated in the description:"Engine turns; cover damaged". Do you suppose they connected to the slave port and "spun" that engine?
Mine arrived today. RLC truck driver was a good experience. The box was damaged and he gave me time to photograph, open, and inspect. It came on a straight truck with lift gate and he rolled it into my garage and helped unpack. He even offered to remove from the pallet but I wanted it left...
I took that to mean they turned by hand.
Not only are the units drained but most have been sitting dry for years. You often see the date drained stenciled on them.
I didn't look to see what that crushed set finally sold for in Albany but it was double what I paid for my unit last year.
Those Briggs units are pretty good
I was considering a 8kw Briggs before I got my mep.
This unit I started the thread on should be here this week. I plan to do a review of some sort. I am hoping my camp stove hose will connect to it. If it does I can run a 1lb can of propane through it under...
When I expect a long term outage I install the bung adapter and hose to the auxiliary fuel connection on the generator. I use the fuel more often in my tractors so I leave this pipe in one drum.
The stock plastic tray actually goes up under the rear engine mount tab. You can see that pretty clear in my photo above. A group 24 battery is about the same width and length as a 34/78 and fits the tray perfect but if you try to set it in it hits the engine mount tab. It's been said you can...
For what it's worth the Value Power batteries at Walmart are $50 each and the higher CCA lawn tractor batteries are $30. You will have a core charge for each battery you don't have an old one for.
I have used the 275 CCA lawn tractor batteries in several applications including one in my Mustang...
Not the correct size as I'm sure someone will let you know but I used a Value Power group 26 from Wally World. Clears the unused engine mount tab and starts my unit just fine.
This was another one of those across the pond purchases off that auction site. I paid $5.14 for two. They were advertised as 3/4" but were actually 1/2" NPT. I used a PVC 1/2" to 3/4" bushing to screw them into the drum vent holes.
Good to keep them exercised. I run mine once a month. It was scheduled for last Sunday but I had other plans so I did it yesterday.
My homemade load bank is also a pure resistance load. I run mine at 40 amps for testing and exercise. I usually kick it to 52-55 amps briefly to make sure it will...
I'm on my 3rd fill of these drums and wanted to check a couple of things. First I wanted to make sure there was no water accumulation and second I wanted to see how much space I had in the bottom if it did get water in it. I was filling my backhoe and got to the bottom of the pickup tube so I...
For me this purchase was a too cheap to pass up opportunity to resell and make a buck. (I know nobody here would condone that) I actually tried to order two of these but they only allowed 1 per customer.
My daughter, who has no generator, heard about the order and said she wants to reimburse me...
Got wind of a sale on the dual fuel DurOmax, 10/8 KW gens for $499 on that auction site. I figured it was too good to pass up. They sold out of the cheap ones within an hour after I saw it mentioned on the tractor forum. The same unit is now advertised for $1499. After I assemble and load test...
I would label each wire with the corresponding terminal number before removing them. I usually grab some masking tape and a sharpie but if you wanted to get fancy the home improvement stores may have a book of wire markers for not much money.
