Right way, wrong way??? (Valve Stems)

Well, I was so proud of myself because I had demounted and remounted 5 of my duece tires. I was still alive and still had all my fingers and toes. :-D I'm in the process of going from 9 x 20 to 11 x 20. Then on number five I noticed that it was sure easy to just drop the tire with valve stem...

    Safety Netting

I haul a lot of youngsters in the back of my deuce, B-day parties, parades, & such. I always have adults in the back but I would like a little more safety. It seems the youngsters head sometimes barely reaches the bottom rung of the back support for the troop seats. Basically a large gap...

Brake Bleeding Lesson (The Hard Way)

When bleeding your brakes with a pressure bleeder, "Do not push down on your brake pedal!" . It appears that if you have air in your lines and the pedal goes down too far, the pressure in the reservoir will push fluid in front of the piston and out of the front of the master cylinder on the...

    Need thermostat information

I need a NAPA part number for a 180 degree thermostat for my duece. I have searched and found a link to a NAPA cross-reference, but it no longer works. I also found a thread that listed NAPA part# 258-185. People at NAPA said it wasn't listed. Anyone out there know a current part number...

    Master cylinder problem??

After several days of 20-30 degree weather, I went out to fire up one of my dueces. After warm up I was going to move it and the brake pedal went to the floor. Tried to pump it back up to pressure but never would. I looked at every wheel and all were dry, however fluid was coming out of the vent...

Blew out my horn, I think???

Well I was getting ready for my Halloween trail last night, which I was going to have my duece turn on its lights and blow the horn to scare the patrons. The wife thought the horn was a little too loud, so I packed a blanket in front of it. I hit the horn and it made a funny squeak and now...

    Horn circuit breaker

Why is there a circuit breaker on the horn? Most of the circuits on the duece don't have any protection, why the horn? The reason I ask is, I want to include my duece in my annual Halloween Haunted Trail. I plan to have my 2 dueces, jeep, & trailers lined up with the trail between them, then...

License Plate Mount for the Deuce

I do not claim to be a “Fabricator” but here is how I mounted my tag to my deuce.  I found a lighted mount (12 volts), on-line at JC Whitneys (Part# ZX889627W) for $10.99 then used the “Resources” link for the light bulb conversion.   Went to NAPA and picked up a 24 volt bulb (464) to replace...

    Electrical Question

How come when I connect the "dogbone" between the two batteries there is a small arc? I thought I had some type of current draw or short somewhere but could find or hear nothing. I finally went to my second deuce and found that it does the same thing. It has set for days and the...

    What tool fits this???

Both of my M35A2Cs have a slight leak from this bolt. What is it for and more importantly what tool can I use to tighten it? A socket will not go on it because the socket walls are too thick. Injector lines are also in the way. Is there a special tool or trick? Thanks. PS: Sorry about...

    Trailer Recovery from Tinker

Here are a few pictures of my trailer(M105A2) recovery from Tinker. I used my GMC Envoy and my friend (M1075) used his Miltary Blazer. The Envoy did well for the short run from Tinker to my house (Appx. 25 miles). We pulled these two home first, then I went back for my third one. :D

    Parade Tops

Anyone know if someone makes a cover for the back with no sides? I know I could roll the sides up but I would rather have a top with no sides. Also, want it to be military looking, not a blue tarp from Wal-Mart. I have to keep my passengers cool during the parade! :D Surely I'm not the...

Grease packingin hub, good practice or waste of grease

When you lubricate the wheel bearings should you fill the void area in the hub between the bearings with grease as much as possible? My grandfather always did it that way and I never questioned the practice. There is no mention of this in the TMs that I have found, just pack the bearings and...

    Outer rear wheel seals

I'm going back together with one of my rear wheels and has I was looking at the the outer seal. I was expecting it to ride on the beveled surface of the hub, like a picture I had seen from another link. However, the OD of the seal is only large enough to ride on the outer surface of the...
